I wish everyone a Happy and Safe July 4th weekend. It’s rainy here right now, but hopefully it will clear up later so everyone can enjoy all of the festivities and cook outs. I know Shadow never looks forward to fireworks, but I do and I can see them so well from my balcony, but if it rains they will be postponed. From the looks of the forecast we are expecting rain all weekend.

I am usually not very active online during the weekends because we spend that time doing family things and everyone needs a break. I know that many people feel like that because traffic is always slower during this time and I always feel bad when someone advertises during the weekend on my blog because I know they aren’t getting their money’s worth.

I will not be adding any Digg buttons to this blog even though I joined the Entrecard movement. If I see something from some blog that I think is important enough and deserves some recognition I will click their Digg button, but I wont be Digging just to Digg. I did try to Digg someones post this morning, but for some reason it wasn’t allowed so hopefully if they are having a problem it will be fixed.

Someone took offence to a statement I made about digging photos. If I see an outstanding photo I would certainly have no problem clicking their button, but I will not click the digg button for a photo of a pair of Oakley sunglasses now that’s just plain ridiculous and I do not plan on being banned from Digg for stupidity on my part. I have had people stumble a few post here and there, but never because I asked them.

I turned the shout feature off at Digg after 3 shouts in succession asking me to Digg their post. I have a feeling that most of the people that joined simply thought this was going to just be a free for all and everyone was going to mindlessly Digg everything and I’m sure some will, but I will not. If I cast a vote it’s not something I expect to get back, it is not tit for tat. Okay I have to run, but do have a great weekend.

It appears that the majority of EC droppers on this blog are connected with PPP, SocialSpark and many other paid to programs, which is fine with me because they are less judgmental when viewing your blog unless they are looking for some TOS to report their fellow bloggers for, which happens quite frequently or did when I viewed the forum awhile back.

That comment may irk some people that feel it’s their duty to report people that are not following the rules that they themselves are and they feel duty bound to help rid systems of cheaters so they can make more money themselves. I do not feel like it’s my duty to report anyone. Google has it’s community of snitches the same as all other programs. I do not feel like it’s my bound duty to oblige any company for whatever reason.

Last week I was very surprised to get a direct request from an advertiser to do a post for them especially since I don’t use the PPP direct widget. When you submit a blog to PPP you have to choose a price so I set it at 50 dollars. The company offered me 55 so I did it and it was an easy post. That’s fun when you can make easy money and I only had to wait a week to be paid instead of the usual 30 days.

As I mentioned before I make incidental money from my blogs, of course I would love to make more, but I do not want every other post to be an ad with only 3 or 4 sentences that don’t make sense added in between just so I can take the next ad, but if that doesn’t bother other people then it certainly doesn’t bother me how they run their blog and they probably really need that extra money.

I know people blog for their own reasons, but I really think the majority are hard pressed for cash and really want to make some money by blogging. Lately I have seen a trend from people that said they would never put advertising of any kind on their blogs doing just that. That must be very hard for the self righteous to do. I can only imagine the turmoil that these poor people must feel and how they can justify selling out is beyond me.

The 4th is almost upon us, my how time does fly. Kids are already popping firecrackers around here and it irritates my furry son no end. I wish everyone a safe weekend. I’m not sure how much I will be online in the next few weeks, but I’ll try and type a few post up so I can just pop them in. I don’t think many give a flying flip, so whatever. If I’m not here, I’m just not here.

I posted a while back about getting an external drive and backing up my computer and programs so I could roll my pc all the way back, which I did. However I just tried to use my external drive for a program that I had previously and found out that when I backed it up I didn’t have my computer checked so guess what? I lost all of those programs. Sometimes I worry about my mind.

I have passwords written down everywhere and haven’t gotten around to making a list and have them all in one handy place because I forget a lot. I had to redownload the FTP program that I use and of course I had to search out my ftp address, user names and passwords before I could even use it. I thought I had everything secure with the external, what a ditz.

I guess I need to get organized again because you can’t get anything done when  everything is chaotic so that will be my project for today, hopefully unless I get sidetracked again. I recently improved my workspace and got that all straightened out and thought I had everything else under control, but now I will have to try and remember the programs that I absolutely need and try and find them again.

 Have a great day I’m not sure how great mine is going to be. It’s not good to frustrate yourself so early in the morning, but I’m sure I’ll get over it.

You see meme’s and people getting tagged all over the blogosphere and though it’s a nice idea to get a link for your site they are a pain in the buttocks. I have no idea why bloggers get upset when other bloggers don’t tag them because it doesn’t bother me at all. I played tag as a child and I could never catch anyone else to tag so I quickly learned to hate that game.

I don’t like following a bunch of rules that state I have to copy the same content and paste it on my blog and then find other people to burden with it. Or hurt someones feelings if I don’t want to do it, so I always have to write a short post and at least link the blog that tagged me if I like their blog.

Also if someone wants to give me an award please do it because I deserve it not because it’s another tag. Which of course we all know is another link exchange just ask me to exchange links and if I like your blog I will. You don’t need to soften the asking by giving me something especially if I don’t deserve it. That was just a small rant of mine, I’m done now.

I am happy to see that the Entrecard forum has calmed down and some ruffled feathers have been smoothed. Too bad it wasn’t nipped in the bud (slang use: To check or cut off the growth or development of) I just looked that up because I always said but instead of bud as a child. It’s a shame that some really good bloggers decided to leave the forum over this last upset. I really need to make time to participate more since I use the program.

I was reading the firestorm forum a minute ago and when I clicked back it was gone and this was in it’s place.

The forums here are failing to serve their purpose. We will do what we have to to restore that purpose.

I was a little surprised, but not really that much because I read Cats With Thumbs last post and it wasn’t very nice and there was a very hostile feeling where I hadn’t really felt that before the dam burst open with Scratchin Post and that’s sad. Hopefully things will calm down, but who knows.

I really can’t say much because I really haven’t been that involved in the forums so I really have missed all the hostility that was said to be taking place. Every time I stopped in an read it seemed okay to me. I’ll wait and see what transpires, I guess now I know why I basically don’t get that involved in forums.
