An Excellent Resource For Consumers
I wrote a post yesterday Struggling To Understand What’s Happening With Our Nation and received an excellent comment from Christina of pArtY @ christinaswwworld! that I want to make sure that everyone that stops by sees because she gave me an excellent resource that explains partly why we are in the crisis which we now face and I wholeheartedly recommend that everyone watch the 20 minute video called “The Story Of Stuff” you will find the link in Christina’s comment below and I hope that you as a consumer will take the time to watch it as I did.
“I’ve lived in Africa for the past 10 years. From abroad it’s been evident to me for the past 6-8 years that the US was in deep, downward spiraling trouble. Nothing I am seeing now surprises me - I’ve been expecting it. That it’s an election year in the USA might seem like it’s magnifying the global crisis, but from my perspective the crisis that the world faces - on so many multi-layered and interconnected levels - is so scary huge that neither camp is really able to adequately address it.
As scary as this point in time might feel, however (believe me, the outlook is certainly not rosy in my corner of the world either), I really think this kind of mega adjustment in our global society is a good thing. In case you haven’t yet seen it, a really great piece on why we all need to rethink our behavior is at http://storyofstuff.com. enjoy! and thanks for sharing your thoughts.”
I really appreciate when someone gives a great resource that’s why Christina is being featured in this post so everyone can share. I know we all want to do our part to help make the world we live in a better place for everyone and you’ll find many resources on the website above to help us do just that. I know you’ll enjoy the interactive video as much as I did and it may give you a new perspective on our consumer consumption habits.
