Next Time You Go To Virginia Visit Smith Mountain Lake

Smith Mountain Lake is one of the most scenic and gorgeous places you will ever see. From Roanoke, Virginia which we always go through when we go to Tennessee you can reach Smith Mtn. Lake’s west end and it’s about a 45 minute drive or you can reach the east end from Lynchburg also with in a 45 min. drive or less. The area has a lot of rental property and because of the market right now you can find some great deals.

This would be a great area to retire to or just to get away for awhile. There’s plenty to do, with golf and boating, plus you will enjoy the 37 acre Smith Mtn. Lake Park which is located on the west end, where you can hike and fish, but you must have a VA. fishing license. At the eastern end you will find Appalachian Power Company’s Smith Mountain Dam and visitors center and that would be very educational for the whole family.

If you’re tapped out on places to take your next vacation then I would suggest this area and I’m quite sure you will fall in love, who knows you might even decide to make a permanent move. There are lots of attractions around and near by that you might want to visit like Booker T. Washington National Monument and the National D-Day Memorial located in nearby Bedford. Check into this area because I know you’ll love it.
