Palin In York PA Is This A Trick Or Treat?

I’ll be so glad when all the campaigning is over. We have another visit from Palin tonight at the fairgrounds in the Toyota Building and they are expecting around 8,000 people to show up to hear her. Since Pa is so wishy washy with which side they are going with there are 21 electoral votes up for grabs and the campaigning has been fierce. Apparently Obama is 12 points ahead by the polling, but I don’t believe the polls are always correct.

We live 2 blocks from the fairgrounds so it’s going to be a mess around here. No we don’t plan to be among the crowd, I hate crowds. Tonight is also trick or treat night so it will be an even bigger mess in our area. I just hope every one stays safe and there isn’t a bunch of nuts out. My son went to the fairgrounds 4 years ago to hear Bush when he was campaigning and he said it was a mess, but he was so thrilled to see Bush in person.

I don’t value or want to hear anyone that badly in person when I can see them on TV, hurry up Nov. 4th. and good job all you early voters, I always wait till the last minute.

Blog Rush Has Closed The Door

A while back I removed the Blog Rush widget from 2 of my blogs because I didn’t feel like I was getting much use from it, but left it on one blog and yesterday I noticed it wasn’t showing up. I simply thought they were doing an update, but it’s still like that today so I went to the website and saw a statement from John Reese which says: After careful consideration, we have decided to shutdown the BlogRush service. If you have the widget code on your blog you will need to remove it.

That was only part of the statement to read the whole thing go to blogrush.com, this was started in 2007 and they didn’t monetize the service it was free, but for whatever reasons they are now shutting down and don’t plan to sell the business they started they plan to let it die. I received no warning nor have I read anything about this decision until I saw the site today. This just goes to show how fast even a well known marketer can fail at something on line. He does go on to say that he hopes this failure doesn’t deter others.

Free Social Marketing Directory 2008 An Beyond Download

Social Marketing Resource ListSince everyone is into social sites and many use these for their marketing efforts and to get more visitors to their blog and sales pages I thought I would share this resource with you. It’s a master resource directory list of over 100 Social Networking Sites (i.e. MySpace, Squidoo, etc..), over 150 Social Bookmarking Sites(i.e. StumbleUpon, Digg, etc..), and over 180 Video Sharing Sites (i.e. YouTube, AOL, etc..) You can download below.

Since I am a member of Support Bucks this is one of the resources I have access to and it also comes with complete unrestricted rights so you can do what you please with it, yes even give it away like I’m doing right now. I’m not even asking for an email. You could find all of these sites yourself, but now you don’t have to bother and for you new bloggers this will certainly save you time. At Support Bucks you will find many tutorials and video access for any level of marketer, whether your a beginner or a master marketer.

As you know I am not a great marketer so I only join programs these days that I feel can help me and since I know Dan Nickerson from Got-Zip, Support Bucks was an easy choice for me. Of course I would like for you to join because I would receive a small commission, but I also think it will be of help when Dan really gets it underway because of the forum where you can ask questions and get answers from marketers that have been there.

Another OIOpublisher Problem Solved

I had one heck of a morning, first of all I found that I had another problem with the OIOpublisher when  I was checking the widget that someone purchased. When I clicked on it I didn’t go to their site I received this message instead:

OIOpublisher Setup Requirements: Open the OIOpublisher ‘config.php’ file in the ‘oiopub-direct’ directory, and fill in the plugin_url variable where indicated After you have dealt with the issues above, please refresh this page.

As most people know I am not technical so I was stumped and headed straight to their forum and left messages, but got no replies so I looked at someone elses problem and then downloaded the congif.php, but had no clue where I was suppose to actually insert anything or even what to insert.

I wasn’t sure where to add the information until I saw someone elses example so I had to go to my cpanel and sift through all my databases till I found the right one and tried the information that I had found until I finally got it right so now it is working fine until I have to upgrade again.

If your not technical like myself then looking at the code below will look just as confusing to you I’m sure, but at least I found out I was suppose to put the information between the ‘here‘; sometimes I feel like a total ditz. I also had to find another FTP program because mine stopped working so today I got absolutely nothing done except to solve this problem.

$oiopub_set->plugin_url = ”; //for example: http://www.mysite.com/path/to/oiopub-direct (no trailing slash!)

/*
DATABASE CONFIG
you must fill in all database connection info if using standalone mode
*/

$oiopub_set->db_args['db_host'] = ”; //database host (usually localhost)
$oiopub_set->db_args['db_user'] = ”; //database username
$oiopub_set->db_args['db_pass'] = ”; //database password
$oiopub_set->db_args['db_name'] = ”; //database name

Just Saying Hello

I am totally devoid of anything to say on this Sunday and it’s so close to voting which is every individuals choice. We bypassed a Halloween parade to get home by 3:00 and start dinner which is a steak, tomato, and green pepper concoction with mashed potatoes and whatever else we choose. We had a great ride and are relaxing now so I hope you all are doing the same, Happy Sunday.
