Vacation Time And Entrecard
I will be away next week so since you wont see my widget in your Entrecard inbox I know there will be very few visitors from that source and really it’s okay because I know how that works and it doesn’t bother me because leaving town for a week is more important than anything else right now. I do wish to thank everyone for their visits in the past though. Since I wont be near a computer I wont update until I get back.
Has anyone had a problem trying to edit and update any information about their blog? I simply can’t update anything at Entrecard right now and it wont even let me change my tag line, very frustrating. There seems to be many changes underway and hopefully some of them are going to be good ones. I really think the program is a great idea and I hope it continues, but the last few partnerships were rather dismal.
It’s great that the owner tries to find new ways to help everyone and I can’t say anything bad about one of the best free programs out there for getting traffic. Some people get very frustrated because of bounce rate and they’re irritated because they try to write something to get a response and I’m sure they feel unappreciated because I always see different posts written about all of the drop and runs.
Bloggers are always telling us how they drop and I’m quite sure I’ve even mentioned my method, but you have to decide what’s best for you and your blog and you can’t expect everyone who visits your blog to comment. You might think you’ve written a masterpiece, but not everyone will be interested. If you’re lucky and you write something interesting then you will naturally pick up a few readers and commenter’s.
Everyone wants reciprocated drops and comments, but it doesn’t always happen. I like to drop on different categories because I never know when I might find something that will interest me, but blogs that post about politics and sports are not likely to comment on this blog nor will I theirs because I’m not knowledgeable enough about either even though I return their drops and they mine, my blog just wouldn’t interest them.
Okay enough from me I need some sleep, happy blogging.

I hear you.
The drop and run phenomenon fills my heart with so much consternation. There are a lot of blogs out there who have such great content (yours included), but many of the droppers doesn’t pay much attention. They might be reading but are mere lurkers and refuses to engage themselves in the conversation.
Next week, I will be off for vacation too, about 3 days. I will need to pick up the pieces when I get back. I’m sure I will lose some regular droppers, but what the heck! I need a break and EntreCard can wait, hehe!

Hi Jude
I hope you have a good, relaxing and bonding time. I have your sites on my bookmarks. I’ll try to remember to access your sites from that instead of Entrecard. I hope you will forgive me if I forget a day or two though.
Just have a good time filled with many blessings.

Hi Lainy,
I drop and read, but don’t comment on every site. I need to do that more.

Hi Lea,
Don’t worry about it, I’ll catch back up when I get home, it’s all good.

Hi Jude, have a great vacation!
i dont really think about the drop and run happenings, i just like ec for structuring my blogging experience, also to use as a tool to help me find new blogs…
i try to comment, but a lot of times, i just dont know how to respond and comment or as a relatively new blogger dont feel comfortable commenting, and i think that’s the way it is for a lot of people too.

Enjoy your vacation! I’ll still drop in while you’re gone!

I hope that you enjoy your holiday. I agree what you say about commenting, etc. I find that with some people’s blogs there is so much flash that the page takes forever to open and then you find yourself skirting around the page looking for the Entrecard widget to drop onto. If a page takes forever to load it is not inviting for the visitor to read a current post. Another thing I have observed is that some people’s comments section have a string of letters to type in to avolid spam … I don’t know whether it’s me but it often takes me three or four goes of typing in the scrambled letters before accepting the comment. That’s really off putting, don’t your think?

To tell the truth I think things are gradually improving as far as reading and commenting goes. I know I’m slowly but surely having more comments left. It’s been such slow progress that it’s been almost imperceptible, but looking back 6 months, there is quite a difference.
It’s not always easy to comment. I frequently read with interest, but don’t really have anything constructive to say. I don’t like leaving something like “Great post”, so I don’t, but perhaps it would be better than nothing.
