You see meme’s and people getting tagged all over the blogosphere and though it’s a nice idea to get a link for your site they are a pain in the buttocks. I have no idea why bloggers get upset when other bloggers don’t tag them because it doesn’t bother me at all. I played tag as a child and I could never catch anyone else to tag so I quickly learned to hate that game.
I don’t like following a bunch of rules that state I have to copy the same content and paste it on my blog and then find other people to burden with it. Or hurt someones feelings if I don’t want to do it, so I always have to write a short post and at least link the blog that tagged me if I like their blog.
Also if someone wants to give me an award please do it because I deserve it not because it’s another tag. Which of course we all know is another link exchange just ask me to exchange links and if I like your blog I will. You don’t need to soften the asking by giving me something especially if I don’t deserve it. That was just a small rant of mine, I’m done now.
I am happy to see that the Entrecard forum has calmed down and some ruffled feathers have been smoothed. Too bad it wasn’t nipped in the bud (slang use: To check or cut off the growth or development of) I just looked that up because I always said but instead of bud as a child. It’s a shame that some really good bloggers decided to leave the forum over this last upset. I really need to make time to participate more since I use the program.
You know, I have been running around Entrecard today reading other blog post about Entrecard’s Forums. I really don’t care. I never visited the forums. I use the system the way that it is. It works. I don’t have time for babies very much. If I have a question I will ask it there, but so far they system just seems to work.
As for tagging, it doesn’t bother me either. If I want a link back from a site I will make a comment. You don’t even have to come and comment on my blog, I don’t expect you to do so. Although it does help me come back to your blog.
I enjoyed this post because it is truthful. Thanks for telling people good job and go to hell at the same time, and people not realize it.
Lol Mouseclone, do you really think I was telling nice people to go to Hell or that I just don’t like tags? I will come comment on your blog because I would love to see you come back just don’t tag me for a meme.
[Shhh, I hate memes too] The last time I had to (felt I had to) complete a meme after being tagged, I was in the midst of a chat session with a fellow blogger. He said I should just not do it, but somehow I couldn’t do that. It rather depends on who tags me I think, but to be honest it can be quite a chore.
I saw the very beginning of the forum row, and it struck me as being much ado about nothing. Nevertheless, I don’t believe in censorship and posts being deleted/edited, so I have some sympathy with the ruffled feathers.
Hi Sheila,
Thanks for stopping and sharing your views. I guess at times in looking back we wish we had done things differently, but since we didn’t it’s best to let them go and move on.
I have noticed that some people aren’t good at moving on though and sometimes manage to cut off their nose just to spite their face. I wonder where that expression actually came from? I guess I’ll go look it up.
I think Memes are very time-consuming and mostly just something to post when you can’t think of a good post to write. I haven’t done one yet.
The award thing was sort of nice, but then it was definitely a chore following all the rules and finding 5 other blogs to pass it on to. Very time-consuming!
I may do a Meme at some point, but only if I think it’s really interesting. I promise not to tag you!
Haha Karen and thanks for not thinking of me for a tag. I want a special award that every one on the internet doesn’t have. The person that started that award must have millions of links by now, they were very smart.
I felt mean when I turned that award down, but I still gave a link to the nice lady that wanted me to have it.
