Why The Heck Am I Still Blogging

I happened to go over to MyBlogLog and sign in just to see what was going on and I must have turned off alerts at some point because there were like 37 or so people that had added me as a contact and I hadn’t reciprocated because I didn’t know. So I rectified that and hope if one of those were you that you will accept my apology. I’m sure no one really cares though.

I have sort of moved away from marketing, but I don’t like to appear rude when people are nice enough to add me to something even though I don’t see why I might need all those contacts unless it’s for marketing. I keep asking myself what I’m still doing here since the main reason I started blogging was to make money and since I decided I’m no good at marketing and have lost interest in it why the heck am I still blogging? I’m not even a writer.

I haven’t even made any post for Social Sparks to date and it’s been a couple of weeks since I have even felt a desire to take any opps from PPP. I have no desire to throw up a blog full of 5 dollar posts and it’s not because I care if someone will think my blog is a splog because if you mind it doesn’t matter and if you matter then you wont mind, like that old saying goes sort of. I need to get my priorities straightened out and regroup.

Have They Fixed PayPal Yet?

Sometimes I feel like I just crawled out from under a rock because I seem to be clueless about what is going on around me. Of course I was offline for about a week also and things happen very quickly on the Internet. It’s like my parents sent me to the store for milk and moved while I was gone.

I was checking my stats over at Clicky and there was a headline that caught my eye Paypal has been terribly broken for 10 days and no one’s talking about it so I headed over to the blog to see how PayPal was broken. If you’re like me and  haven’t heard they are having a big problem receiving payments from different countries.

I use PayPal as do countless others, but since I remember all the horror stories over the years about accounts being frozen and other people losing thousands of dollars and all the rules and restrictions, which for the most part is good I leave very little money in that account. As soon as it reaches a certain point then boom I transfer to my bank.

No way would I even sign up for a PayPal credit card because with all the phishing and scams it makes me very uneasy. According to Clicky the fix is a simple one, a drop down box that would enable people with accounts in other countries to be able to pay, but it is taking them a long time to rectify this problem.

Thank goodness I don’t depend on them mainly for my business, but many do. However I do receive payments from PPP through them and the reputation they have developed over the years at times make them an iffy option to use. I have never experienced any real problems, but many have.

So if you are like me and haven’t read the Clicky blog use the link above and head on over. The last comment someone posted yesterday said they received an e-mail from PayPal telling them that there was a  live site maintenance scheduled for Thursday, May 29 at 11 pm PST, but I haven’t received any communication.

Thanks For All The Visits While I Was Offline

I would like to thank all those bloggers that visited while I was off line and apologise that you viewed the same post for a week. I hope everyone enjoyed their Memorial Day weekend, we had beautiful weather here. I know with the price of gas that many stayed near home, but some did travel.

Bill went to Ohio and shared expenses with his daughter and I took care of the homefront and it was rather lonely, but I used my time wisely. We got a GPS for Christmas and this trip was the first time it has been used and Bill was so impressed he can’t wait to use it again. As much as the 2 of us get lost that was the perfect present.

I will now try to get back in the swing of things. I guess everyone needs a break from their computer from time to time to realize exactly what is important in their life. Well, I have always known what was important to me, but we sometimes get into a rut and with Summer almost upon us I’m sure more people will be doing things outside with Loved ones.

No Cookie - No Avatar On Widgets

I have noticed that when I clear my cookies that my avatar doesn’t show up on the widget of other blogs. That could be a good thing or it might be considered by some as bad because other bloggers wont know that you have visited their blog if you are the social type. I kind of get tired of seeing me on all those widgets so I don’t think it bothers me right now of course I could put a cartoon character on instead.

I was getting tons of friend request from BlogCatalog and MyBlogLog when I was showing up on their widget and like I mentioned before I really don’t understand what good it does me because the traffic isn’t any different from those places. I simply haven’t figured out how to socialise I guess. Of course we all want traffic and people are always inviting me to join the groups, maybe I should get involved more. I try, but I really don’t have the time.

I want to get some dropping done because I seem to be behind, but it is a pain to drop 900 cards so lately I’ve been cutting back because I don’t think I want to be considered, A dedicated dropper with a hint of addiction. Dang I have enough addictions, I think I prefer Serious Dropper, that way I don’t have to feel like I have to drop on everybody on this planet.

I think I’m going to start with the stats page and the advertisers and then maybe do just the first 4 pages and see if I feel less of a burn out. This weekend I will be busy Spring cleaning and moving furniture while Bill is away so I probably will not be on here much and I also want to ride some. I have to go so have a good evening.

Entrecard Gives Me Something To Blog About

I really like the changes that Entrecard has initiated with the program. It’s really nice that the dates segment the cards that have been dropped. Before I was going way back to make sure I hadn’t missed anyone and now I can tell which days I have to bother with. Of course on the weekends lately I haven’t been doing much dropping so now I can go to those dates and make sure I haven’t missed any new people and then go from there.

I downloaded the free pdf so I could read it later and have I done that? No, it’s still sitting in the corner where I left it and I was so anxious to read it after visiting  Turnips’ sneak peek. Since starting with Entrecard I have found a lot of good information on the above mentioned blog about the program. I’m not saying that everything posted there is the gospel, but you will find some answers if you look deep enough.

As I have mentioned before I admire people that can multitask and work a lot of programs at the same time. I have to concentrate on one project at a time. I was planning to check out Sitehoppin and Blogupp, but since I haven’t gotten Entrecard figured out yet with the best dropping method for myself that would be very silly of me. I really like the traffic I receive and it bugs me when people say that it’s low quality.

I love free programs of course and hopefully this will stay that way because many people simply do not have the budget for advertising, granted this may take up a lot of your time, but it’s effective ( I always get effect=result, noun and affect=influence, verb mixed up and no doubt always will) for lowering your Alexa and making those stats look good. I really appreciate the comments I receive and I have really tried to comment more myself on other blogs.

I also like that they have now made it possible to add your other blogs under one account, but I like mine just the way they are and now that I’m use to my separate accounts I’m just going to keep them that way, but for others just joining you can now simply switch between your blogs without having to log out and back in. I have met a lot of nice people through their blogs and I feel bad that I really haven’t had the time to participate in the forum.
