Firefox And Explorer Dilemma
I have used FireFox for a long time and then one day it started acting weird. It would freeze up and I would always have to reboot so I stopped using it and switched to IE7 and that ran great for awhile then it did the same thing as FireFox. I used both for dropping Entrecards by the way.
They both started signing me out and I would always have to refresh and start over again and I always got mixed up on who I had dropped on. I was really getting very frustrated with the whole thing. I thought I might have a virus, but that checked out okay.
Things always looked normal when I used FF and IE distorted blogs and would make them break and also made Entrecard widgets disappear. I deleted and reinstalled, but nothing has helped. So I downloaded the IE8 beta and that worked better.
However when I went to my blog and tried to view another page on my site the Izea tools url jumped into the address bar and wouldn’t let me go anywhere. So I had to delete that version and get even more frustrated. By that time I was ready to throw in the towel on everything.
I had just purchased a program called Version Tracker Pro and it tracks your programs and drivers and lets you know when there are updates and I saw the FFox 2 beta 5 and downloaded it, but none of my addons were compatible, but if it worked I really didn’t care.
I tried it last night for dropping and it was great, it didn’t knock me out of Entrecard nor did it freeze up on me and I can see everyones card now and at least that mystery was solved for me and the blogs that would break in IE or not load all look great in this beta FFox.
I wanted to post about this incase someone else has been having similar things happening to them. I’m not very technical so there could be any number of reasons everything is flaking out on me. I probably just need that new pc which I’ll get someday soon I hope.

Looking at my own website in IE was enough to cure me for life. Firefox forever!

Have you checked for spyware or viruses (viri?) lately? Some good free programs for these purposes include spybot S&D, Ad-Aware, and Avast antivirus.
Hope this helps.

Yes Sly I have checked for viruses and my pc is clean. I think I just need a new one. Thanks for the information though.

Hi Haney,
I’m not very technical. Does that mean my temporary files? If so then yes I did that.

Sounds like a software issue. Reinstalling windows should fix it.. though I know it is a horrible pain in the rear. Still, cheaper than buying a new PC, and you’ll still have to reinstall all of your favorite programs if you buy a new PC.

Hey Sly that’s what I was thinking about the software issue, but the stupid pc says there is no conflicts I think it’s lying to me. These things are just to smart for me.

i had some problems with my blogs before with firefox, i wont display my scroll bar.. that time i was mainly using ie7.0.. so I downloaded firefox at the same time safari to make sure that everything works.. and then i saw that the scroll bar didnt really show up.. so i have to redesign my blog while using firefox and that works out just right.. its good now.. but sometimes when I log out of firefox, it always says that it encountered an error.. i may have to download some updates to it to fix it but right now its just work fine..
