Deactivate Wordpress Plugins Before You Upgrade

I spent the last 2 day fixing problems on my blogs since the wordpress updates that I did messed them up. Did you know that you should deactivate all your plug-ins before you update because they don’t handle plug-ins and will break your site. That’s what happened to mine the whole thing went down and I had to send a ticket in and that got lost in some black hole.

I used the the talk live feature and the poor guy did his best to help me, but I guess it wasn’t such an easy job because he said a tech would have to delve into it and it would probably take at least 48 hours. He did at least manage to get the index page up and I was able to at least get into the admin part. That was such a mess. So yesterday I got tired of waiting and simply deactivated all plug-ins and  tried upgrading again. I was so happy it worked and fixed the problem.

I was also busy changing a regular website into a blog and I worked very hard to find a template that I liked and customize it and today when I checked it I clicked the links to make sure they worked and the whole site disappeared, all the post were gone and I had to re-customize the whole template again. I was so frustrated I almost cried.

Since this is my 7th day without a cigarette it was a good test for me and I am proud of me because I didn’t give in and smoke. At any rate my luck has been horrible the past couple days so maybe I should steer clear for a couple days so I don’t destroy anything. I’m tired so I think it’s time for my bed… Goodnight
