Kontera Update Mess Up
Well, I am finding more and more programs for one reason or another that are proving to be very unsuccessful for me and this week happens to be Kontera Content Links. I have used them for several years and had almost hit the 100 dollar pay out mark, yeah I know what works fast for some works very slow for me.
I hear people report that they receive checks from Kontera all the time and all I can say is God Bless You because I certainly don’t have much luck with this sort of revenue. In January Kontera updated their website and downdated mine apparently. The only history they have showing for my sites are from Aug. 07 to Feb. 08, so they lost a year or so.
I sent an email to explain what had happened and the reply I received was this:” We are constantly working to improve the services we provide to Kontera partners.
On Tuesday, January 29th, we launched Kontera’s new Publisher Center and unfortunately few of our publishers experienced temporary difficulties in viewing their accounts.
We apologize for this inconvenience, and assure you that this one-time occurrence had no affect on your account information. We thank you for your patience as we worked through this much needed upgrade, and invite you to login to your account and experience all the new features that we added to Publisher Center “.
The upgrade did however lose half of my history so something is wrong, so I sent them a reply and told them so, that was last week and I still haven’t heard back from them. I did login to see if anything had changed and sure enough it had. Instead of the 44. dollars it had reported when I sent them the first e-mail it now reads as below.

Instead of going up it seems to be going down further even though when I check site meter it shows Kontera links being clicked on. It has now gone to $42.29, now I may not be the best at math, but clicks are suppose to make it go up not down. Some of the sites I have it listed on are only on a few pages and on 1 of the sites above I don’t even have it on.
I hear people talk about how they hate this type of ad link especially on blogs so I have removed it from my blogs at least, but it remains for now on several of my sites, but if what has happened with my account is anything to go by then it appears it is a waste of time and the only people making any money with this is Kontera.
I guess I will pick a week and simply go through and remove all advertising on all of my regular sites and since I didn’t use css when I made my sites because I simply didn’t know about it, I will have to do each one manually. I wish all of you that use Kontera much luck and hope that none of this ever happens to you.
