Remember Your Valentine

We get so engrossed with working on the computer or even our outside jobs trying to earn a living that we sometimes forget what is really important. Even though we’re doing it for the family because we love them and want to take care of their needs we do seem to forget some of those important times and dates or at least I know I’m guilty of that failing.

Even though I know Bill loves me dearly, he has only ever sent me flowers once in 5 years and I felt so special. I have never even gotten one single valentines day flower although he always gets me a card. Even though we are getting older that doesn’t mean I don’t still love romance. I’m not saying he isn’t just as romantic now as in the beginning, but it is less frequent.

18030f.jpgI think I will drop him a hint this year since Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and leave 1800flowers.com open on his computer. I wouldn’t mind having fresh flowers or a plant, but I’d prefer this little dried arrangement shaped like a heart in the antique tin it’s adorable and then I would have it forever. Since I’m writing this maybe I’ll just let him see this post and make it easy for him. Everyone likes to feel special.

1-800-flowers has been around since 1976 so we all know that it is a well respected company and they have much more than flowers, they have stuffed animals, candy, gift baskets and much more and if you have a hard time deciding they will even help you with that. If your forgetful like me they will even send you reminders of those special occasions in your life. Show her she’s special and that you are still romantic.

So if you are reading this before the 14th and you just can’t make yourself get off the computer do the easy way of shopping and make that call or better yet visit their site so You wont be in the dog house this year. I know not everyone will have someone to share this special day with, maybe they are away on business, but that doesn’t mean you can’t reach out and say I Love You from a distance. To everyone I wish you all a special Valentine’s Day.

Why My Subscriptions Were Canceled At PayPal

Well, I feel really dumb today, not sure why I wanted to share that with you other than the fact that I did not update my credit card with PayPal because I didn’t think about it and all of my subscriptions were canceled, of course I got an email after the fact reminding me to update, but it was to late then. So now I need to go around to several other sites and update before something else gets canceled.

I had no clue why my subscriptions were terminated and it said I did it from my end. I was puzzled and sent an e-mail to explain that I hadn’t canceled my subscription and they asked me about my credit card, if it had expired and that’s when the light finally clicked on in my head. Apparently PayPal does terminate for you if your expiration expires, so puzzle solved and lesson learned.

I’m just not as sharp as I use to be even though I hate to admit it and it seems like the older I get the less I know. Maybe I should do one of those questionnaires that help to assess a person’s behavior, thinking and feeling. They could provide some fundamental information for assessing my well-being, ways of coping, self concept, perception, attitudes, beliefs and vulnerabilities. All of those things are very important aspects in mental health which concerns me at times.

On second thought, while they may be helpful as self-help tests, many of the mental health tests on websites are not validated and may have low reliability. If those two important concepts of psychological testing are not met, the purpose of the test would be useless, however they can be entertaining. Of course if I would get the proper rest and stay off of this computer I might not have such a dull mind and I wouldn’t have to be concerned.

If you use any online tests, please make sure that they are PhD-certified or PhD-approved and any other types of certifications confirming that someone expert in the field of psychological testing has given his approval of the tests is helpful. I actually took the Mensa test on line several years ago to gauge my intelligence and didn’t do too bad and I was actually impressed with me at the time, okay enough of my blithering.
