I have been having problems with my computer lately and actually thought it was going to blow up or was infected or something dire that was going to have me screaming in agony trying to reprogram, but then I noticed that Zone Alarm hasn’t been loading right and acting weird since I updated it.

I decided to uninstall and everything seems okay, but I’m not totally sure yet so I’m testing it now to see if it is going to act up. I like having a firewall because it makes me feel safe and I have really never had a problem with the free version of Zone Alarm until recently and I’ve used it for years.

It’s very important to prevent bots from attacking your computer. Having a firewall program is very important to me and should be for you also so I guess I will spend some time tomorrow to find a different one. Even though I don’t keep personal information on this pc I certainly don’t need to have my computer hacked or attacked.

I definitely have too many programs on this machine so it’s time for my Christmas cleaning. If your like me you download all kinds of crap and use it a couple of times and then just forget about it and all it does is take up space on your hard drive. When I first started online I would actually sign up at those giveaways because I didn’t know any better and then I would be on 100’s of list and get all that marketing spam.

What a waste of time unless it’s something really unique and usually none of it is. Everyone gives the same products and most are actually useless. If you’re downloading all those products in exchange for your name and email address at least open a free account somewhere and use that regardless if they ask for your primary address otherwise you will have to cancel too many subscriptions when you get tired of all the sales pitches and deleting.

Update: 12/21/07 I left my computer on from 3 am until now 9 pm and it pains me to say that I have had absolutely no problems with my machine whirring and acting like it was going to blow up since I deleted my trusted Zone Alarm.
