Have You Ever Wondered Who THEY Are?
Many people are still speculating about the causes of the Google page rank and rightly so, especially seo experts that make a living by helping companies to get high rankings for their sites. If they don’t know what’s going on how can they be experts any more?
We have learned over the years that to have a high authority for our sites brings in much needed traffic and big bucks for many sites that use various advertising venues. I have heard from various places that in dropping pr across the board Google is trying to devalue the importance of pr and not so much the site. It sounds as good as any other explanation.
We really do put too much value in page rank and we take it very hard when that little green strip shows less than it use to. Should Google’s judgment make us feel less about ourselves and what we create? I still feel the same about my blog and myself, only now I do it with less income.
Casual users that are just looking for information don’t know or even care about page rank and the people I know that aren’t trying to earn money on the Internet certainly don’t use the Google tool bar to clutter up their browsing experience and monitor their every click. Tool bars just take up valuable space that could be used for viewing.
I have 4 different tool bars that I feel the need for, but I’m seriously thinking about getting rid of Stumble because I seldom ever see traffic from them. Well that would at least give me a little more viewing space. There are so many social sites out there that I have no clue how people manage to work them all.
Most people join all these social communities because we have been told we have to be involved in order to make contacts and do jv’s and drive traffic to our sites. I have joined so many in the past that I simply have forgotten how many. Have I seen much traffic from these sources, no not really. I try to give them all a chance to work before I simply stop participating and remove widgets.
Experts would tell us that we’re just not doing something right and for only $19.95 I can get the answers to all my fumbling techniques and some even promise sainthood as a bonus. It’s not that we are stupid, we are just gullible and naive. It’s a known fact that inexperienced people get taken advantage of everyday.
Well they toughen up pretty quick and then they lose trust in everybody and everything. They do say what doesn’t kill you will only make you stronger and actually that’s true. We are suppose to learn from our mistakes and we all know until we do we will keep repeating it over and over until we finally say “Aha” now I get it.
Okay, I got off track there somewhere, but since I am..
Have you ever wondered who “They” are? We say that all the time and even write it in our posts, Well, they said this and they said that, but who is they and why do we use that term all the time? Does it lend more authority to what we say and think when we can add they said it or they did a study about this or that and can’t really back it up with the actual source?
It’s just like all the quotes we have used for years, do we actually know who we are quoting? No, but we know “They” said it or it’s been said. One quote that has been used for years that people say is, money is the root of all evil, but the actual quote was ” For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. (Timothy 6:10 -King James Version)
I only brought the “They” thing up because I noticed how many times I say that without actually knowing to whom I am contributing information from. I guess I will try to be better informed after I finish this post.
