Make Your Google Adword Campaign Profitable

I think almost everyone has tried Google adwords, I know I did when I first started selling information products. We know that big companies hire the best in the business to run these campaigns for them, but the small time entrepreneur can’t afford that when they first start out. If your not careful and don’t have a clear idea you can end up spending a fortune before you even get started.

I knew I had to pay attention to my budget, but I really wasn’t clear about anything else, but some times I’m impulsive and jump right in. Well needless to say beginners luck wasn’t with me and my budget got eaten up faster than I can wolf down a whopper.

I don’t know if anyone has heard of Steve Baker so for those that haven’t he is a PPC professional and he shares some very pertinent information for people like me. After I finish reading all the free information and checking out the blog I just might be tempted to try again, but this time I’ll be better armed and maybe I’ll sell a lot more of that information that has been collecting dust lately on my servers bookshelves.

The Ultimate Guide to Google Adwords is a free and informative guide on his site. There is also an in-depth ebook “PPC Agency Secrets Revealed” that may be of interest, at any rate I think Steve’s site deserves a look especially if you are having a problem with adwords like I did.

Since the post before this one was about providing good content on your website I believe Steve has gone above and beyond with the well written information he provides. You can even ask Steve questions and he actually replies.

How Important Is Your Sales Copy?

I know you’ve heard the expression that content is king and it really is important especially if you run a business online. Having good content will help your search engine rankings and help drive a larger targeted audience to your website. When we use the search engines we want our information quickly and if you have relevant information and get listed on the first page then more people will click through to your site.

You can always have someone write optimized content for your website. It doesn’t matter if you have a great looking website and low prices if you don’t have content that has been optimized with your specific keywords you’ll never be able to take advantage of all that free advertising.

Most businesses use a seo expert, but some smaller businesses can’t afford one. So if you aren’t good at writing then outsource it, but you have to have good concise and accurate content about your products and services so it will get indexed by the search engines and you get more free traffic.

Visitors usually form an opinion of your website quickly based on the quality of your copy and content. If it doesn’t grab their attention and it’s poorly written information about your products or services then they will exit your site without a thought and you have then lost a possible customer.

If your copy is well written and catches the visitors attention they will be more apt to investigate what you have to offer further and may even make a purchase so it’s true that content really matters because it’s the first thing people usually notice besides the easy layout of your website.

If the main purpose of your website is to sell products and services then your sales copy should be persuasive and actually make people want to pull out their credit card and make a purchase or enlist your services. Your sales copy should be compelling and offer accurate descriptions of how your product and service can solve their problem.

The ideal copy would not appear to be blatant advertisement it would stress how important the product is and how it can help. Writing that kind of sales copy can be complicated and would require an experienced and skilled copywriter. You want it to sound persuasive and informative without giving a hard sell.

You do not want an inexperienced or amateur sales copy writer because your copy wouldn’t be as effective. If you use an adword campaign it will also be to your benefit to have your content written an keywords optimized to their full potential by using an expert in internet marketing. So pay attention to the content you put on your site and enjoy a higher conversion rate.
