Riding The Google Wave
Well this past week has been one of ups and downs for websites and blogs. Much speculation and theories about why Google is doing what its doing. I lost a point on each of my websites, but my 2 blogs went up for now. This one went up a point and my beauty blog went from a n/a to a 3 for the time being. It’s anybodies guess as to the stability of these new page ranks.
I was surprised to see my profile page on blog catalog go from a n/a to a 4. Doesn’t make since to me, but that’s not saying much because nothing makes since anymore. I’m sure when the dust settles all the seo experts will have an answer for us or maybe if we’re lucky Google or Matt Cutts will explain what has happened. Most people are happy to see their ranks moving back up somewhat.
It’s been a blow to many and it’s a bitter pill to swallow for the masses that have worked so hard to get those links to their site. I really should spend more time trying to figure out how to get some decent links, but I’m lazy sometimes and I figure eventually it will magically do it itself. Well I still believed in fairy tales till a year ago also so go figure.
I personally don’t think page rank matters like it once did. It seems to have been devalued. Getting that traffic moving is so important and there for awhile I was receiving a lot of traffic on my beauty blog, but it has dramatically declined since they gave me a pr 3. I prefer the traffic. I did manage to lower my error count on this site to 2 and I really can’t change those till the posts drop from this page then it should validate.
I am thinking about changing my regular websites to blogs, but I’m not quite sure how to do that yet unless I simply change them over and just add each article as a post, but since there are so many pages it would probably look like spamming to add them all at once, but at least I could update them a lot easier and maybe eventually build them back up. Another project to take up all my time.
