Do You Have What It Takes To Be A Marketer?
I actually finally watched an episode of “The Next Internet Millionaire” the other night which was episode 8 and realized that I simply don’t have that kind of drive to make millions, but I wish them all well. I guess I will be happy being mediocre and for that reason I took the weekend off and enjoyed myself with Bill.
There are so many ways to make money online and people do it every day, but it has to be consistent and those marketers work very hard to be top earners and have other people wanting to be where they are. So then they get richer from all of the wannabes and very few actually end up making anything except the mentors.
Although consumers are getting smarter about all the tricks that are used on them from marketers sometimes we still fall for some of them like when they give us something we think has value, like information. They tell us it’s a big secret that is not known to anyone else and then it just turns out to be another advertisement that they want us to participate in.
They try to trick the customer into making a commitment and if your new online it’s easy to fall for. They trick the customer into taking small steps toward the goal, without the consumer realizing it. Like when you request information, they will provide you with relevant information for free and make you fill out a form and get your contact information. This is like committing to get offers and information about products in future which most times you get swamped, but a smart marketer will take this step slowly to build your trust.
When I first started online I bought a program because I thought it wasn’t going to be available later. Marketers use that trick quite often, but it doesn’t work as well as it use to. The old this offer expires in 12 hours and 45 min and counting down, but you go back 2 weeks later and it’s still counting down.
The free samples we are offered are also just another way to get a lead that can be marketed to although I still fall for those sometimes especially if it’s something I wanted to try anyhow. Marketers study human psychology and know the trigger buttons to push to get us to make a commitment. I have never been much of a salesman because I don’t like pushing stuff on people so that will make me a mediocre marketer the rest of my life. You have to convince people that they need and want stuff that they don’t and I’m not good at that.
