It’s been years since I have actually been around teenagers and seeing and listening to the gossip on television makes me realize how hard it is for teenagers today not to mention their poor parents. Compared to my younger years it’s a much faster pace and they are pressured to keep up and join in. It seems like fashion is also one of the biggest things that is literally shoved down their throat and if you want to fit in you have to be rich now a days.

There is a new series on television that is becoming a hit with teenagers and it’s called “Gossip Girl”. It’s about the life’s of several young socialites and the fast pace way of life that they live and for me it’s an eye opener. I think it’s cowardly to have a blog that spreads gossip about the peers she knows and cause turmoil around her and not own up to some of the mischief that is created. I’m sure eventually the mystery blogger will trip themselves up and be unmasked. Now you know it has to be someone trusted by all to get all of this inside knowledge and I’ll be curious to see the consequences.

I can’t say that I love to gossip now, but I like to know everything that is going on and I’m guilty of listening, but I don’t believe everything I hear. When I was younger of course I did indulge in gossiping with all my friends and about 9 years ago when I first started on the internet I was lonely and joined a chat group. That was my virtual world and to show my virtual friends who I was I started a blog well it was actually called a journal then. Now we all know people on the net aren’t always truthful so my friends would come by and we would “discuss” or gossip about all the people in the chat room.

Eventually I met a lot of those people and that made my blog more real and more and more people started joining my community to get the low down on the others, but after some of the more unsavory joined in my blog and left ugly gossip about people I knew, I decided it was time to shut it down so people couldn’t see that stuff and spread it. I stopped going to the chat room as well and got a real life.

Tomorrow night is bike night in York and we always go downtown and wander around. They close the center of town for this event. They always have vendors set up and the economy gets a big money boost. All of the stores are open and actually this is the only time I have ever seen the city of York and surrounding areas so full and busy.

They have a big bike parade starting from the fair grounds and it’s really cool to see all the bikes come through. People line up and cheer and it’s just a fun night for everyone. They have bands outside in the square and food everywhere.

Bikers come from all over to participate in this event. Bill usually takes Friday off, but has to work till 10:30 tomorrow he likes to check all the vendors that are set up in specific spots which started Thursday and I think till Saturday. Bikers are everywhere during this event and it’s great for our economy. People complain about the loud pipes, but I love them.
