A few years back my friend Jimmy who lived in California and had his own business there, had to return here to take care of his Mother and the laundry mat here in York that his Father ran for so many years after his death.
Jimmy and my self discussed opening a small barber shop inside the laundry mat that he owns now, so people could get a hair cut while they were washing their clothes and it was a good idea because it would have been very convenient because people hate waiting for their clothes to wash and dry and need something to occupy themselves with, but because Jimmy had several business loans outstanding he wasn’t able to swing the changes we would have had to make.
The place he was interested in creating a loan with makes small to medium business loans for restaurants and other sorts of small business endeavors and is usually very easy to get approval and the interest rate is tax deductible. I’m not really sure of all the details, but it didn’t come to pass because someone in the apartments above the laundry mat caught something on fire and the place was evacuated and shut down and has stood empty and uninhabited till recently. He is now rebuilding so maybe he did get that small business loan after all.
I am no longer interested in the partnership, but I would like to know what his plans are and if he did indeed get that loan. Who knows maybe he will add a small restaurant because the people he was in touch with specializes in those types of loans and maybe I’ll get back into that business because I have done the restaurant business most of my life and I miss it.
