Mutiny At Pay Per Post

I have been with PayPerPost for about 3 months and have really enjoyed the association and find it very easy to work with them. It’s simple and easy to earn extra money by doing sponsored posts and following their terms of service. I have very little advertising on my site compared to some and I try to keep it uncluttered and easy to navigate.

I read the forum at payperpost, but do not join in because all I have seen is a bunch of whining and uptight bloggers that think they can do no wrong and that their way is the only way and that they have the inside scoop on everything because they have been there from the start.

I take the “bunch” part back, it is basically a handful of regular faces that are in a clique of their own. They seem nice, but I really don’t know them. What I have seen is just an observation on my part. Well there is now a full blown mutiny with aforementioned posties and payperpost over a change in tos. I did notice most of the highest paid posties steered clear of participating in said mutiny.

It seems payperpost would like to help create less spammy looking sites by insisting that all sponsored post, not just theirs, but other companies also must have an interim post sandwiched between them. I personally think that is a good idea, but that’s just my opinion. Aforementioned posties are taking exception to this new ruling claiming that ppp has no right to tell them how to run their blogs. Which they don’t, but the point is if you want to make extra money you either do as they request or go elsewhere, it’s that simple.

The one reason I quit using adsense was because I didn’t like the way they controlled my sites, so I simply took back control. I was tired of feeling like my site belonged to Google and not me and if I ever get to that point with payperpost which I don’t see happening as yet because I think their terms are reasonable at this point in time.

I will simply walk away without a fuss because if I don’t like the way something is run then I certainly don’t have to participate. I don’t have to incite a riot and upset everyone just so I can feel vindicated for whatever reason. I think PayPerPost is trying to become respectable in other peoples eyes and not be considered a slimy fly by night snake-oil selling site.

The potential for this site is growing and I think it will only improve as they keep trying to raise the image and standards for all pay to blog sites. I have a feeling though unless damage control is exercised immediately the disgruntled posties could do some big time public relations damage
