Bike Week In Gettysburg
This was bike week in Gettysburg and yesterday we made our annual run to Battlefield Harley Davidson and then on to the Allstar Sports Complex where the bikes were lined up everywhere. The roads were filled with bikes everywhere you could see. It’s awesome to hear the pipes on those bikes and have ours add to it. It’s always like a carnival atmosphere and everyone has a blast.
The traffic was horrible and Bill hates when we idle for long periods we actually had to turn off the engine a couple times to keep it from overheating. Not sure if we will go next year because neither of us really like huge crowds where you can’t even walk and people can be so rude and just run you down.
They parked us in a field with ruts and Bill almost dropped it at one point because it’s a big bike and he got stuck in the middle of one of those ruts, but he’s pretty tough and was able to get it out and get us parked. We went with 5 other bikers, one was Bill’s son and he loves riding with his son and Bill’s best friend from Ohio whom he hasn’t ridden with since they were kids. He looked forward to this all week and so did I, but I personally am more interested in the ride and not the destination.
I was so tired from the heat and pushy people when we got home we all went to Hoss’s for dinner and I went straight to bed around 7:30 and didn’t get up til 4 this morning. I was looking at a couple photo’s that I took and thought I’d post them. Below is the sand art that was being sculpted. I don’t think we will go back today to see the finish, but I’m sure we will ride. The second photo is the buffalo bike and then just a few of the bikes, they were everywhere.
