I Am An Expert At Not Being An Expert

Is everyone online really an expert ? Chances are they are not, but everyone likes to share their opinions regardless if they know what they are talking about. Before I take someone’s opinion as gospel I check with some of the other so called experts and see if they all agree. There are always pros and cons for any idea or project. I then decide for myself and form my own opinion. The experts always agree that what works for some may not work for others and you only get out what you put into a project, but even that isn’t true because you can work your backside off and still not get anything out of it.

Experts tell you that you have to use the social networking sites for your blogs in order to make money with your blog and you have to show that you are an expert about something. So I have joined several social sites and I really haven’t decided yet if those little pictures on the sidebar bother me or not. It’s nice to know if the bloggers in the communities you belong to bother to come and visit you or not and usually I will make the effort to go visit them if they leave a comment and sometimes even if they don’t just because I do like finding new and different blogs.

It’s strange to see my picture looking back at me on someone else’s site. So for that reason I am thinking about using an insignia or avatar. I’m sure that probably bothers a lot of other people also. I haven’t yet decided if the social sites actually provide that much traffic. Perhaps if I spent more time in these places and left more relevant comments it might improve.

I don’t seem to have enough time to spare to spend all my time in these places posting comments though. With zillions of blogs out there, I’m totally amazed that any of them get steady readers. I have come to the conclusion after studying a lot of these blogs that there is usually 1 expert to be found per 100 of course this is only my observation, but the funny part is everyone tries to be an expert on something.

For myself I have decided the only thing I am an expert on is not being an expert on anything. Of course I know a lot of useless junk and I know a little of this and that, but nothing that amounts to anything. I have a Cosmetology License, but I never practiced the expert advice I always gave so I quit practicing.

Cosmetologist have some of the worse hair I have ever seen because they are forever practicing on each other. Although I did see my mgr. years ago totally screw up someone else’s hair by giving an acquaintance of mine 2 perms in the same day. I was mortified, it wasn’t long after that I decided to quit. I didn’t want to work somewhere that a mgr was so not expert and professional. It’s okay if you want to mess up your own hair, but never a client. You can lose a lot of business.

I have no clue why I threw the above paragraph in other than to let you know that even though someone has a license or title or doctorate in something it does not always make them an expert on everything. They also make mistakes.
