If your around my age you probably already have a retirement plan and good insurance in place so you don’t have to worry. If you do that’s great, but I know many people don’t even think about retirement because they know they can’t afford to retire. I sometimes think about the future, but not often because it isn’t real, only right now is real. I know that I can survive on very little so I’m really not that concerned any more.

Sometimes I do worry about Bill retiring only because I have no clue what he will do to occupy himself other than ride his motorcycle. He dreams about retiring and getting away from the rat race, but I know he will be bored because he has always worked and his job has always been an important part of his life even though he hates it at times. I think he will be happy for about 2 months then he will go nuts. I need to find some hobbies we can both participate in now.

I had a friend once and he also dreamed of retiring and just taking care of his horses and training and racing them. When he did retire to his dream he found out he had cancer and died 6 months later. We never know what is in store for us so I guess the point I’m getting around to is try to enjoy everyday and do what makes you happy now don’t wait for retirement and the wonderful life of freedom your dreaming about.
