Blue Organizer Firefox Extension / Social Meter Tool
I just downloaded the Blue Organizer Firefox extension from adaptiveblue.com. It’s suppose to make smartlinks that look like regular links except when you right click it gives you shortcuts to other related services and sites. Sounds very useful.
I was told that it might slow down my browsers performance. However you can organize your browser with the sites you view online. I’m gonna test it at any rate to see if I like it. I don’t know if I like the idea of my browsing habits being studied. I can always remove it if I don’t like it.
They also have a very useful tool that I found when I was checking the Apogee blog. It’s called the social meter and it scans the social websites to see how popular your blog is. It will show you how many links you have pointing back at you from Bloglines, Del.icio.us, Digg, Google, Rojo, Shadows,Technorati and Yahoo My Web. You can also drag the bookmarklet to your browser and check any site you are visiting. socialmeter I love finding cool tools and sharing.

I just try this out. Good tool with a nice interface but it really slow down my PC. It takes about 5-10 seconds to pop up the window after I clicked the Bluemark button!
But anyway… Thanks for your sharing

Hi Kin,
Karen from AdaptiveBlue here (the makers of BlueOrganizer). Sorry to hear that you’re noticing a delay when BlueMarking–what site + url were you on? Also, even if it takes a couple seconds to load the BlueMark, it shouldn’t affect your browser’s performance.
Would love to chat with you and figure out what’s going on. Shoot me an email at karen@adaptiveblue.com.

By the way–Judy, cool marketing site!
Let me know how you like BlueOrganizer. You can use it to publish your favorite books on marketing or the mysteries of life. Check out http://sethgodin.typepad.com/ for an example. Be sure to click on the blue square launchers right next to each image of a book–you’ll like what you’ll see. =)

Jenny I know how you feel…I don’t feel like lol, but I will chuckle, we all have room for improvement and besides it depends on how long you have been doing blogs also. The longer you’re at it the more people you meet….
Thank-you Karen.. tonight when I reboot, I will find out if there is a big delay and if I can live with it. Seems like a really cool extension, I’ll let you know, but I love the socialmeter….Jude
