Ramblings Of An Old Woman
Today I feel like rambling about nothing in particular. Did you know just because southern people drawl their words it doesn’t mean they are slow-witted? It amazes me or maybe not how people are so fast at putting people in certain categories. I think Jeff Foxworthy is a funny man and he has certainly made a lot of money with the redneck series. I actually never paid any attention to some of the words we Southerners put together until Jeff pointed it all out to me.
When I catch myself saying well I ustacouldav I immediately find something more appropriate to replace it with and sometimes I don’t. I love the way southerners talk and I miss my southern state of birth, but I will probably never move back to Chattanooga. I still have some family living there so I will visit every now and then. When I hear someone speaking with a drawl up here in PA. it does make me homesick.
Last time I saw my son I decided he was mature enough to finally have all his baby keepsakes. It took long enough (37), but he’s married finally. back in Dec. and he’s buying a place in Kentucky and wants to have a family and he’s been reminiscing about his history and childhood, so now I have to scan 50 million pictures of his childhood and put them on a cd so he’ll have them.
His booty included, baby teeth that the tooth fairy exchanged for money, his first tiki bank, his little booties, 1st pair of sneakers and shoes, his first haircut curls, some report cards and souvenirs from school and various other odds and ends that I have been carrying around in my travels for 38 years and believe me I have lived in lots of places, but those items were more important to me then anything so now I have entrusted my treasures to him.
Yesterday we had to take the bike over to Laugerman’s Harley Davidson seems the tack was going nuts and they have to put it on the machine. Dave thought it was something simple, but it’s a little more complicated than first thought so he has to go through the manual. I haven’t heard anything from them yet today. I hope we have it back by the weekend. We did ride Sunday and it didn’t act up or die or anything, but it irritated Bill to see the needle going nuts. He’ll be home soon so I have to go for awhile. Gotta feed my son and daughter, Shadow and Sadie and my stray cat Stalker.
