Take Time To Appreciate Your Father

Is today Friday already? Boy this week sure has gone by fast, seems like only yesterday it was Sunday and Bill was saying, “Well I gotta go back to work tomorrow ” and of course I commiserate with him as I always do when he says this every Sunday night. It’s a little ritual thingy we do and of course on Thursday it’s always, “Guess what day tomorrow is?” and of course I always grin at him and he always says,” Man I’m tired, this was a rough week”. Even though I hear this every week, it never bothers me because he’s the sweetest man alive and I adore him.

This Sunday is Father’s Day and I hope everyone shows appreciation for their Fathers and husbands. Seems to me Fathers don’t get made over nearly as much as Mothers. I really didn’t know my Father that well because he was sick and he died when I was 7. My Mother had died 6 months before him so I have never had the opportunity to let either one of them know I appreciated them.

You never know what will happen tomorrow, so live each day like it’s your last and never take life for granted. I know that’s easier to say than to do because everyone seems to be under so much pressure to make a living and provide and we all get bogged down by so many things, but this Sunday take time to appreciate your Father and the “Man” in your life. Spread The Love and have a great day.

Are You Addiction Free?

I remember years ago when I lived and worked in Reno. I had a ball and the only reason I lived there was because I had the fever. It took me forever to get gambling out of my system. Well I still gamble, but it’s on my marketing career now. Thinking back I always seemed to have money. I always find a way to survive as most people do.

I would call myself a mediocre marketer. I was never good at pushing beauty products when I cut hair nor was I good at pushing food on people when I worked in the food industry. I could never work at McDonald’s, seems they are forever pushing dessert or something at you.

I think I wrote a post sometime ago about the easiest thing to sell and that would be alcohol for me other people of course would say drugs. When I was a bartender I made people mad all the time because I loved the words “Your Flagged”, but I did it in a nice way unless they threw a glass at me or broke something or called me some of those wonderful names you’d be ashamed to have your Mommy hear.

Of course I had death threats when I barred someone from the bar for doing drugs out in the parking lot. Lots of young people hung around, I mean early twenties not saying older people weren’t doing them, but they were more careful. At any rate I have always had an addiction of one kind or another and at some point you need a helping hand. I still believe in the “cocktail hour” when I was young that hour was hours and I did recreational drugs every now and then. I know lots of people hooked on prescription drugs.

Sometimes a person needs a helping hand and someone to help them understand. I don’t often talk about my past because I don’t live there any more. I live in the now and even though this is a sponsored post for drug treatment I do know what I’m talking about when it comes down to self abuse. I have been in detox before.

If you have an addiction or you know someone that does give this number a try or give it to a friend 1-800-663 -7847 be sure and check their website above for more information. Thanks for reading.
