At my age my idea of fashion is just being comfortable and I’m definitely not comfortable in dress up clothes so therefore I don’t go anywhere formal and when I do it’s usually the basic black for me. I don’t think I even own a dress anymore, I donated them all a few years back. I never could walk in heels so when I do dress up it’s usually my dress boots.
That doesn’t mean that I don’t love watching fashion shows and seeing what’s in and what’s on the way out. I also love watching makeovers, but I certainly would never put myself through one especially not one of those extreme surgery makeovers because I’m a wuss. I’m sure I had some fashion sense when I was young because I wanted to fit in.
I’m not like my friends at all because they can tell you exactly who is wearing which designer and if it’s a knock off or an original I have never been able to do that because it just wasn’t that important to me. If someone looks nice in whatever they wear that’s good enough for me. You don’t have to spend a fortune to look nice.
I’m not into brand names, but I know the world is and so many people are judged and judge by what they or someone else wears. I knew a man once that judged people by the type of shoes they wore, now how petty is that? Well, I will admit he was right about one person he had warned me about and several years later I had to admit he had been right, bummer.
Fashion is great if that’s what’s important to you, but for myself I’ll just stick to my comfortable jeans and t-shirts and if they try to dress me up when I die I’ll come back and haunt them.
I myself have always been a t-shirt & jeans kinda gal. I’m most comfortable when I’m in casual wear.
I don’t live and breathe fashion (like some of my friends) but when I’m required to glam up (such as the upcoming fashion week event at the end of the month), I do take the effort to look the part coz dressing up is fun. But I can’t imagine doing it on a daily basis though. hehehe!
i feel much comfortable with shorts and sleeveless though i don’t have the stunning skin of my legs or wherever i still love it because i am more comfortable.:)
You go girl! Being happy with yourself and not worrying about what other people are doing and thinking is the way to go, good for you!
I’m usually a jeans and t-shirt kinda gal too, in fact it’s what I’m wearing right now!
I’m with you, always wear jeans and a t-shirt in the summer, jeans or cordurouys and a sweatshirt in the winter and sometimes a sweatsuit. Dresses, skirts and heels are not my thing either. I don’t even wear a dress on Sundays to church anymore just because I don’t have any comfortable heels to go with them.
My dad was the same way–he always chose comfortable and did not like dressing up in a suit and tie either. I buried him in his jeans and a flannel shirt.

Good post. Yes, comfort is what we need. jeans and tshirts are the civilian uniform, despite what all the glam mags are saying.
Hope you don’t mind but I’ve tagged you. Check it out on my blog.
