When it comes to finance I’m not the brightest light in the house, but I do know that you can’t have more going out than comes in. How in the world do our countries manage to get us in the messes we always seem to be in? I understand the bartering system and endorse it wholeheartedly I have a skill you need, you have a skill I need, lets help each other.
The amount of foreclosures that are going on is a serious and very sad situation for so many people. Yes, we could live in a million dollar home, but could we really afford it? NO! I’m grateful to live in an older house that is paid for and no mortgages, yes it needs work, but at least no one can take it away from us.
All we have to do is pay the property taxes every year which I think is a crock, once you buy something it should be yours and you shouldn’t have to pay recurring taxes. We have to pay school taxes and we don’t even have children going to school anymore. Well, I think it’s great to support our young, but come on it should stop when you get a certain age and you need support yourself.
Older citizens especially those on a fixed income have a hard enough time making ends meet. I’m not sure what the laws are in other states, but I know they are kind of stupid here. We even have to pay a head tax in our area, I’m surprised they don’t tax the air we breathe or should I say pollution by requiring us to attach a meter, scary thought.
Okay rant over!
Amen sister! I constantly look at the bank balances to make sure I’ve got money in the account. I plan for extra purchases, and now that my oldest is in college with two more to go, I do without a winter vacation, rarely eat out and pull money out of an account I set up to help him with his education.
I was taught that spending money you did not have was wrong. But what do I know, I’m just the tax payer!
We’re all here ranting with ya, maybe if we rant enough they will listen.
