August Grandbabies/1 Boy-1 Girl

August 15th, 2008

Bill’s daughter had a little girl August 15th, today at 12:05 am and I will post a picture later today. My son had a little boy on the 1st of August at 1:45 pm and I’m posting a picture of him below with the brown bear that plays the sound of being in the womb which he loves to hear and makes him stop crying.

It’s very traumatic for the whole family when a newborn arrives. There’s so much to get use to and adaptions to be made. In the case of my son this is their first and probably only one since they are 38 and my son is sick and chemo and radiation would make him sterile. He had been hoping for a house full, but life hasn’t turned out the way he planned.

This baby will be very much loved by his parents though so that’s the most important thing. I know I wont be able to see him much because we live so far apart and my daughter-in-law feels no responsibility to keep me updated on anything going on in their lives so it’s up to me to push issues if I want to be a part of this little guys life.

My son has always had issues with me so we have never been as close as I would have liked. I thought with the baby coming that it would draw us closer and it has, but with his illness uppermost in my mind and his, the baby has taken second place and I’m not sure exactly what I’m feeling right now. It’s sad that my first biological grandchild can’t have center stage.

We will go see Natalie Grace this afternoon when Bill comes home from work and I’ll take a few pictures. I am closer to Bill’s daughter than my own son and that saddens me. I have always considered Nate as my first grandson who belongs to Jodie and he considers me his NaNa as Natalie will. I have to go for now so have a great Friday. Click to enlarge photo.

We went to see Natalie and here are a couple of her. One is the back of her head to show all the hair and the other one is Nate and Natalie, just click to enlarge.

Thank-you very much Babette, I must say that newborns scare me to death, I really start to enjoy them when they develop their personality and make cute faces.

Congratulations! There’s a lot going on in your life right now, so it wouldn’t be surprising for you to feel a bit overwhelmed and out of touch with yourself. It will settle down, enough for you to catch your breath at least. Many blessings

Thank-you Lea you are such a sweet person. I certainly pray for the getting back in touch with my self feeling because I don’t like feeling like a stranger to myself or new Grandson. Thanks for stopping by.

  5. Charla says:

Jude, congratulations on being a grandmother! And two babies! Wow!
I am sure they will bring you much joy in the weeks to come. These are things that made my heart melt with Baby J: when he wrapped his tiny little fingers around one of my fingers, when he first smiled at me (and everytime he smiles at me), and a couple of times he patted me on the shoulder when he wanted his mommy instead of me but wanted to let me know that he still loved me (or whatever he was thinking)
Baby J has been such a blessing in my life and especially during some difficult times during this past year with fibromyalgia and other things.
You’re in my prayers that you’ll start feeling better!

PS And one of my favorite things to do when I’m out shopping is to look at baby clothes. :)

Congratulations on these two wonderful additions to your family. Even though life doesn’t always work out the way you plan, at least you have some joys in your life. :)

  8. Ness says:

Congratulations! The most wonderful a mother can have :)

Hi Charla and thanks I can use all the prayers I can get and the same for you. I love looking at the baby clothes also and I had the jeep full when I went to Kentucky with all kinds of stuff that they needed.

Hi Amanda and thank-you also and yes you are correct about the joys in my life.
