I was discussing the benefits of detoxification on one of my blogs today Mature Not Senile so I felt like carrying it over here because it’s very important to make sure we have a balanced mind, body, and soul in order to function in a healthy way. Yoga is used by many because it helps bring balance.
Yoga teaches breathing exercises that will actually help oxygenate the bloodstream, the different yoga asanas that you do along with breathing techniques are designed to help increase energy levels and help massage internal organs to get rid of toxins. Along with yoga many cultures use the sauna to help detox.
Most health facilities and gyms recommend using the sauna because it will help eliminate chemical buildup in fat cells. Along with a healthy diet consisting of whole grains, fresh fruits and vegetables, nutritional supplements, and exercise the sauna will help you sweat out those deadly toxins.
Because of all the toxins that we are subjected to and that are produced in our body we have to eliminate them so the whole body can function properly. Many people are using special programs to eliminate the dangerous chemicals that build up and cause our internal cells, organs, and tissues to malfunction.
Detoxing will help increase your energy levels, keep your mind from getting sluggish, improve your skin, help alleviate your body aches and pains, and help your body avoid potential disease. There are so many benefits from detoxing that I wont name them all right now, but there are many blogs out there that are specifically geared for providing all the information you should know.
Right now I’m concerned with letting you know how important it is to have a healthy filtering system to eliminate and cleanse the impurities from the blood in the lungs, lymph, skin, intestines, kidneys, and liver. We have to have a strong immune system to fight off disease and in order to actually be and feel healthier we need to make sure we eliminate all the toxins.
Many substances that we use and abuse that will create the toxins and help prevent healing are saturated fats, refined sugars, alcohol, coffee, and cigarettes. We also have to contend with the increase of pollutants in the environment along with stronger chemical compounds that are being created.
It amazes me that we are actually living a longer life than our ancestors considering all the data that we now have and since they weren’t subjected to all the pollutants and toxins that we contend with in our century. I guess the evolution process has caused us to adapt and conform in order to survive and perpetuate our species.
I love that fact that we are more conscious of going green and making gentler household cleaners instead of the harsh chemical-based products and companies are making personal health care products more natural because of the demand. We check the labels of our shampoos, toothpaste, deodorants and cleansers much more carefully now because we have been taught what to look out for.
The fact remains that you never fully eliminate all the toxin build up unless you do some sort of purification and there are many ways to detox the body. You have to decide what your preferences are and what will fit your lifestyle best. Many people fast for a period of time by drinking juice only.
I know many people that have bought juice machines and use both fresh fruit and vegetables to use for their fast. A few to be used include celery, cabbage, carrots, and spinach, also cranberry, apples, and make your own pineapple juice, but no citrus fruits are used to get rid of toxins.
1 to 3 days is recommended and because you will be getting enzymes and nutrients it wouldn’t be so hard on your system. It is always best to talk with your doctor if you decide to go longer than that. Many people do use this method for rapid weight loss, but I think the weight will come back when you start eating again unless you learn to eat healthier as a way of life.
Others fast by only drinking water for a few days, that way everything gets to rest. When I was younger I would do this to lose weight of course, I wasn’t concerned with toxins I just wanted to look more attractive for the boys, I didn’t know I was actually helping my body do a better job to make my organs stronger. However if you have a eating disorder I don’t recommend this.
I think this post has exceeded the word limit I wanted to stay within because when a post gets too long people lose interest in what they are reading. I just wanted to make sure people realize how important it really is to detox periodically to sustain a balanced center and rid ourself of the toxin build up that can kill us. Be sure to check with your doctor before under going any detoxification.

This is a good article and I think everyone needs to detoxify their bodies to get rid of the toxins that get built up in our systems. I drink a lot of water and like to fast as well, and I can say it sure does clean my system out. I also take enzymes which are very important as well as vitamins/minerals.
I do a weekly detox with infusion of garcinia with green tea. This seems effective for my body system.
But all else said, some physical excercise is still the best practice. Only the discipline seems to be the issue. ;-{
