Clancy (dog) and Joe (cat) aged 14 and 16 respectively went earlier this year. I think it's so sad that young people or anyone for that matter are judged by appearance and I don't really see that changing, only get worse. Sometimes it is meant in a harmful way. I can't say that I have never poked fun at someone, because I have. I have also been the butt of a lot of jokes. I have learned to take it all in stride. If I can not learn to over come the short comings, that is a joke because I'm 5'3", then I need to. People will pick on others. That is just the way that it is. With the way that the media and everything else looks at you is what is programmed into people. If you really would like to get rid of all the "hate" there is in the way people look, then you would have to get rid of the media. Also, there is the judging a book by its cover. We all do it. Even if you do not wish to do so. I work in a corporate environment and they have enforced rules based on the way you look that could lead to termination.
