My weekends are flying past, but of course that doesn’t matter much to me because I don’t have to get ready and prepare my mind for a back to work week. Bill does though and he really dreads Mondays more and more and I really feel bad for him. If it weren’t for him I would be doing that very thing right now and getting depressed.
If you get depressed occasionally there are a few natural remedies that can help you out of those funks we sometimes fall into. If it’s a chronic type depression then you better seek professional help because it’s not something to mess around with. I had to have help a few years back and if I hadn’t had professional help I’m not sure where I might be right now.
A well balanced healthy diet is the key to staying happier and healthier, especially where depression is concerned. Everyone is always encouraged to drink lots of water and eat lots of fruit and vegetables every day. A lot of healthy foods are used as natural remedies in helping to manage depression and one of those is asparagus, which comes highly recommended.
The asparagus root is the part that we are after, squeeze or crush the bottom root and if properly done it should be in powder form. 1 or 2 grams of this powder a day is recommended. Apples also help provide relief to those suffering from depression. Apples have vitamin B and potassium, which has a number of benefits where depression is concerned. Some people that suffer depression do recommend eating an apple with milk and honey daily.
Receiving the proper amount of vitamin B can be very beneficial for helping to manage depression and apples aren’t the only food with vitamin B other recommended foods are eggs, green vegetables, whole grain foods, and fish, which we had tonight. Check with your doctor for a dosage level of vitamin B supplements in case you are not getting enough from natural foods.
Natural, herbal teas and green teas can help and also rose petals can be used to help, manage or treat depression. Take a small number of rose petals and mix them in boiling water some people add a little sugar for taste, but I prefer it not sweetened, let cool and drink.
Meditation and relaxation are two proven successful ways to cope with depression. For many individuals, sitting in a quiet room with their legs crossed, simply inhaling and exhaling is enough. Many choose to learn the proper ways to relax and meditate and this is easy to do online or with an instructional video. Sometimes just taking a relaxing warm aromatic bath can help lift depression.
Please remember to always check with a professional if your depression does not lift or go away. Everyone suffers some kind of depression at different times of their life and prolonged mental depression that does not let up after a few days should definitely be checked into.
