My Decision To Quit Smoking

February 20th, 2008

Many people don’t know that I am a smoker and have been for over 40 years. I have never been a rude smoker and always try to distance myself from other people whenever I feel the nicotine urge coming upon me. I have tried to break this habit a couple of times, but deep down I really enjoyed it so I was unable to achieve my objective.

I have a small smoking room so I don’t smoke in the house so at least there is only one room to clean for nicotine, not a very pleasant job. Of course smelling like smoke isn’t pleasant and actually the damage it has done to my skin and body isn’t something I am very proud of. I have always admired people that were able to stop.

I have finally decided to put my cigarettes down, but I can’t do it by myself. So today was the start of my new program. I have heard good things about the use of Chantix and how it has helped many people to successfully stop. I took my first pill today and it has to build up in your system before it starts to help with the nicotine cravings.

This system is recommended for 12 weeks for best results and it’s not cheap, but in the long run if you no longer buy cigarettes you can save a ton of money which I am looking forward to. I am also looking forward to feeling physically better and I know my skin will appreciate what I am doing for it so wish me luck and I will keep you updated on my progress.
