Having things in common with your partner is very important for a relationship to survive and for us riding the bike is very important and that’s something we share together and have a mutual love of. This is a beautiful part of our life and I see more and more older bikers on the road and since we have the Harley Ultra Classic believe me it’s much more comfortable and I can ride for hours.
I took a break from the computer over the weekend and even though it was overcast and yucky we still enjoyed ourselves. We rode up to Unique Cycles and Bill bought a pair of heated gloves so we can ride the Harley even when it’s cold. We have ridden in cold weather before and his hands turn solid white when it’s cold and they go numb and that’s with heavy gloves on.
We had checked the Harley heated gloves and they were 165 dollars and if you wanted the thermostat that is 80 dollars more. So we checked around and found the after market gloves at Unique Cycles and off we went to check them out. The supply was limited, but they had a pair of large so we got them and the whole package was only 140 dollars and that included the thermostat.
They were kind of snug on one hand so when my brother came over he stretched them a bit with his bigger hands and Bill said that helped a lot. You have to be able to work the clutch comfortably so we took a short ride yesterday, it was around 45 and the heated gloves worked great for his hands. I’m very pleased he bought them even though it’s a hassle hooking up all the wires it’s well worth it.
I know someday there will come a time when Bill gets so old that he can’t hold up the bike that we wont be able to ride, but when that time comes we will simply get a Harley Trike instead. If your in PA 40 years from now and you ever catch a glimpse of 2 old timers on a 3 wheeler then it could very well be us out on a Sunday taking a putt.
