American Idol And My Saturday

January 19th, 2008

I had a beautiful day today, Bill didn’t have to work and he enjoyed his morning instead of rushing around and getting ready for work as for me all my days are leisurely because I don’t have to work a job on the outside. I work at home and I love being at home, but sometimes I miss the interaction with humans, therefore I maintain a website, not quite the same as actually seeing and talking in person, but it works for me right now.

We played around and Bill checked his Harley at the shop which I posted about on my other blog then we went to Hoss’s and had dinner, returned home and I took a nap and then we watched Charles Bronson in all the Death Wish movies from back in the 80′s. Can’t say I like all that violence, but I do Like Charles. Usually when I watch movies they are comedies and family movies anymore.

I do watch American Idol and I watched both nights this week just because I can’t really believe that all those people really think they are talented. I truly believe the production company encourages all the off beat costumes and actions just to make some entertaining moments and just the way they publicize you know these people know that they can’t sing, but are encouraged to be outrageous not only in dress, but attitude , makes for some funny moments, but how humiliating for a spot on TV, nope not for me, how humiliating.

I personally think if Simon every quits that show it is doomed because he is actually the only real judge on there and he has a great wit which the other two zombies no nothing about. Simon tells it the way it really is and even when I first started watching after the second year and thought he was a jerk for all the mean things he said, he was actually the only one that rang true.

I have watched this for 5 years because it’s entertaining and I love to watch new talent being discovered, how cool is that? The whole process is fascinating and I love the idea of small time talent making it big. Now that is the American Dream. I never vote for a favorite because I don’t have any favs I think they are all good and will have a shot at something just because of the exposure and usually they do.

I will be watching the rest of the try outs and auditions like I normally have for the past 5 years ( missed the first 2 ) because I love to see how far they go from audition to the end. I root for them all and always wish for true talent to surface and it usually does. So for this years try outs we wish you all success and be prepared and grow.
