Happy To Be Alive
Some days I’m just so happy to be alive and today is one of them. It’s a new year and I really feel so blessed with my life and the way it is now. Even though I feel like Nate and the girls are my true grandchildren, I am happy that my son is finally going to be a Dad. He has tried for so long and I hope everything goes well for them.
We’re planning on going to Ohio in May because Bill’s brother will be renewing his wedding vows again for his 50th wedding anniversary. They did it for their 25th also and Bill was best man. May will also be mine and Bill’s 5th anniversary so it will be fun to get away. We always stay in a hotel because we like to come and go as we please when we visit family.
Hopefully we will also go to Kentucky to visit my son if not in May then maybe August when the baby is due, now that would be a great birthday present for me and even better if it’s born on my birthday. I haven’t mentioned that trip to Bill yet because I just thought of it.
We are considering riding the bike which we always enjoy and if it gets too much for us we can always do it in 2 stages instead of driving straight through. Since we traded in the softail for the classic it’s definitely a smoother ride. He has the bike in the shop now and Dave Laugerman is making sure we will be able to get another 50,000 miles out of it.
We always dread winter because that means we don’t get to ride and since that’s one of our favorite things to do together we miss it. There is nothing like feeling the wind in your face and simply feeling free. I love it, if I was more coordinated with using a clutch I would learn to ride myself, but I guess there is always time however I really love riding behind Bill so maybe not.
We have even talked about getting a trike when we’re older, well we are older now, but I meant much much older like in our 80’s and yes, God willing we will ride as long as possible because there’s nothing like it. I always get confused when using apostrophes and some people do like to point out all spelling mistakes so I apologize for my errors.
Well, it’s Friday and Bill doesn’t have to work tomorrow and they say we are going to have some nasty weather so I guess a big pot of homemade soup will be very tasty with the snow and ice falling. It snowed all day yesterday, but then rained and today the sun is shining brightly, so maybe the forecaster got it wrong. Have a great weekend.
