The top news story last night was that the FDA has approved the cloning of cows, swine, and goats and after 10 years of research and testing say they will be safe for human consumption. It was reported on the news that it would be quite a few years before we would actually see this occur though.
They say the breeders would actually take their best stock and clone those and then they would be used for breeding better specimens for human consumption and don’t forget the cloned milk. Our news reported that it would probably not be labeled as cloned, I actually doubt anyone would be able to tell the difference and it is a very expensive process.
This subject has always fascinated me and I find it a little disturbing even more so after watching a movie a few years back, I can’t remember the title, but they were cloning humans for spare parts encase something would happen to part of your body for one million dollars you could have your own insured body in storage.
That movie gave me a lot to think about as did the first test tube baby way back when, do you think because it was conceived in a tube that it made it any less human? Amazing! The majority of people barely bat an eye over anything that science can and does anymore.
There is a company in PA that has been quietly working on cloning for quite a few years now. I’m sure you heard all about FDA ruling on your own news, around here they are trying to gauge the public reaction to their top story tonight. I’m sure there will probably be a lot more vegetarians by then because meat for me and others is very hard to digest and as you get older you try to stay away from things that hurt you.
Just wondered if any of you have an opinion that you would like to share? Type at you later.
