Daryl: I am an apprentice in CA with 2200 hours, but am moving to Nevada. Can I transfer to a school with my hours?
Answer: Plus information about reciprocity for Nevada:
Daryl you didn’t specify which part of Nevada so my best advice would be to contact the board and find out the schools available in the area you plan to move to and contact them directly, most will have a website that you can find more info. Just like mfd it’s best to get in touch with the state you are interested in moving to because rules change all the time. The e-mail and phone number is listed at the end of this comment. You can check with the following source and so long as all of your hours and schooling has been documented in Ca it really shouldn’t be a problem to transfer your hours Nevada’s apprenticeship program is 3600 hours.
Nevada State Board of Cosmetology (702) 486-6542 – offers apprenticeship by a licensed cosmetologist who has been authorized by the board to supervise and train a cosmetologist apprentice. This supervisor will document and itemize the hours spent on each required practical application specified y Nevada rule totaling 3600 hours.
Endorsement into Nevada is contingent on successfully completing a Nationally recognized written examination in this state or in the state, territory or the District of Columbia he is licensed.
Reciprocity for licensed operators
All applicants must apply to the board, enclose $100.00, be at least 18 years of age and have the equivalent of a 10th grade education. The applicant must have passed a nationally recognized written test in the state of licensure. The applicant must hold a current license.

where is the license number on my license lol??
Are you serious Azure? Maybe the license are prepared different in different states, but usually it will say license number and then depending on what you specialize in it will start with the letters, for mine since I am a Cosmetologist mine starts with CO, but I really don’t see how you can miss it because consumers are allowed to view your license that hang in a shop and get the number and report you if you’re doing something wrong and if you carry your card it says License Number in big letters, if it’s active, and the date it expires..
