We Need To Cultivate The Loyal Customers

October 1st, 2007

How in the world do you get loyal customers? Usually if you can show how loyal you are first then your more likely to receive it in return. Of course we want to satisfy our clients, but they can be satisfied anywhere. What we want to do is cultivate the loyalty and have a customer for life.

Do you make an effort to make sure your customer has a memorable experience one that he/she will be happy to repeat? A satisfied customer only means that they are neutral and may or may not return. Companies spend millions on advertising to get new customers, but show very little appreciation for the ones they already have. What can we do to achieve loyalty?

Tips for being the best you can be and earn that loyalty.

  • Be the friendliest and happiest person around, people like to be around someone that makes them feel good.
  • Start with a positive attitude, the first few words should set the right tone.
  • We want word of mouth advertising so make sure they remember the great service you give them.
  • Make sure you know how to communicate well and your client and yourself are on the same page. Communication is a very key element.
  • Always offer great value without expecting anything in return.
  • Lastly do your personal best at all times just for you.

Regardless of the type of job I have had, whether it was waitressing, bartender, cashier or working in the salon it has always been around people and of course we, YOU are the most important person in the world, but when you are serving someone they think that they are, so you have to treat them like they are the number 1 most important person in the world.

A satisfied client is mediocre and what they say is :

  1. I feel okay about dealing with you
  2. My needs were met
  3. Service was okay.
  4. Experience was okay.
  5. I might talk about my experience, I might not
  6. I could refer someone to you maybe I wont
  7. I just feel neutral about you, your not bad, but not great.

What you want them to say is:

  1. My needs were met and exceeded.
  2. I simply feel great having dealt with you.
  3. The service you provided was great.
  4. The whole experience was great.
  5. I will definitely refer someone to you and talk about my great experience.
  6. You have provided such a memorable experience and I think your wonderful.
