How To Treat Customers And Clients

jude8753 | Beauty School Insights | Saturday, 29 September 2007

Businesses spend lots of money and time teaching their employees how to be courteous and respectful to their customers or clients because they want that customer loyalty. They want those customers to return. Do we understand our customers, do we serve them well? Are we listening to their needs and giving that memorable service? We want to keep our clients for life so it’s very important if someone is upset and angry to help them immediately and find a solution that will satisfy them.

When I worked at Salon Trends they always told us that customer satisfaction is worthless, but customer loyalty is priceless. Poor customer service happens everywhere, regardless of where you go you will hear the clerk or whomever saying next, over here, who’s next and I find that very rude.

Whenever a customer walks into the salon that’s another opportunity and a choice for you to make a memorable and lasting impression. You do realize that without those customers you wont get paid because without them you would have no job. How many customers have you lost and thought so what I still have others. You should multiply 1 customers annual sales volume by 20 years. How much money would you have made with just that 1 customer.

Customers can be very demanding and they expect you to know them, understand them, lead them, help them, serve them, and they want it right now and it’s your responsibility as a professional to deliver on everything they want. They expect fair value , and your ability to communicate well with a good attitude, leave your problems at home. They expect reliability, by being consistent in your behavior, actions, and attitude. They expect exceptional service and expect you to deliver what you promise. You know that they expect you to understand them and their needs and if you can meet all of these expectations you will have a customer for life.

Is Botox The Cure All For Wrinkles

jude8753 | Skin Care / Vitamins | Friday, 28 September 2007

As far as I’m concerned there’s too much emphasis put on youth and vitality. It causes otherwise intelligent people to panic when they see the tiniest wrinkle form. Is Botox the cure all for wrinkles? You see more and more people that should be growing older gracefully and embracing their wonderful maturity run shrieking to the nearest plastic surgeon for face lifts, tummy tucks and all kinds of other torturous intrusions upon their bodies. I am very thankful that I have accepted growing old.

Botox treatments are one of the biggest trends for the aging Americans in our society today. These treatments were approved by the FDA in 2002 and it’s made from a Botulinum Toxin Type A injected into areas of the face where wrinkles appear. These injections are the same toxic chemical that causes food poisoning in people.

By injecting this chemical into areas of the skin, the muscles resist contractions, which causes wrinkles. Wrinkles appear in areas where the skin has wrinkled repeatedly due to muscle contractions and by not allowing the muscles to contract in these areas, wrinkles disappear. Most people find that after a Botox injection wrinkles in the injected area have nearly or completely disappeared within one week of treatment.

Even though one Botox treatment shows dramatic results almost instantly it doesn’t last forever maybe 4 months then the process is repeated to keep wrinkles from reappearing. Botox treatments have been very popular and millions of people get injections yearly. I do believe some of them over do it because of that weird look they have. I was shocked when I saw Kenny Rogers and a few others and it makes me sad to realize how desperate we really are.

This shows how obsessed our society has become with youthful beauty. Botox treatments have allowed the older generation to remain timeless by paralyzing muscles and stopping the wrinkles once they begin to appear.

These Botox injections can be very costly usually ranging anywhere from $250-$500 for each injection and if you have more than one area worked on remember that you will be charged for each injection the doctor administers, not one price for the treatment.

Botox has been approved and used for medical purposes for well over a decade. Botox has been used to treat neurological disorders as well as muscle disorders. Botox can be helpful in cases where muscles have unusual ticks or twitches. By keeping the muscle from contracting, Botox can relieve the patient of these symptoms. Migraine headaches have also been reported to be helped with Botox treatments.

If our society wasn’t so obsessed with the outer then we of the older generation would be better able to face growing old with dignity and not have people making fun of us for the natural aging process. I have a lot of respect for the Asian culture and how they revere their elders and treat them with respect and the dignity they deserve.

Learn To Love Your Beautiful Self / Stop The Self Abuse

jude8753 | Beauty Misc | Thursday, 27 September 2007

United bloggers against abuse are making history today. All over the blogosphere you will be seeing posts to raise awareness against abuse of any form. I wrote about the abuse I had experienced in childhood and when I was married on my other blog and for this one I am writing about the abuse we perpetrate on ourselves for whatever reasons.

Not everyone lives a fairy tale life and as children we are shaped and molded by the adults in our lives. No one is perfect and most parents do the best they can, but usually there are certain rolls that our parents or guardians try to put us in and as a result if we don’t fit then we are considered misfits and we are not always treated with the respect we should be.

As an individual we should all be accepted as being unique and not made to feel inferior because we are not the exact same copy of someone else and as a result we tend to not be able to accept ourselves and may become abusive by drinking or escaping with drugs. It’s very hard to feel like you fit in and are accepted. We abuse ourselves daily by undergoing cosmetic surgery of one kind or another because we don’t like who we are and we want to look different and the young girls that have developed bulimia and anorexia over the years and abused their systems is just heartbreaking.

We tend to abuse ourselves daily in one form or another and we need to become more aware of how to be nice to the most important person in the world and that would be You. Regardless of how you’ve been treated in the past don’t continue the patterns of abuse on yourself. Some people even preform self mutilation which is shocking. There are so many forms of self abuse out there that I wont attempt to name them here. If we could just learn to be more accepting and less judgmental we could make this a much nicer world to live in.

I know I have berated myself mentally and called myself a lot of abusive names which is definitely not good for the soul although I have worked hard on that over the years I still slip and call myself stupid or ugly at times, but I have finally learned to love me and accept me for who I am so those derogatory remarks are very few and far between. We live and learn, but we don’t always learn how to live till it’s too late.

Is Cosmetic Surgery Right For You

jude8753 | Beauty Tips | Wednesday, 26 September 2007

We deal with beauty issues on a daily basis and everyone is concerned about their appearance. I’m sure many have thought about some sort of cosmetic surgery and sure it becomes necessary for people that have been injured or burned or other unfortunate accidents, but I know it’s not right for everyone.

When it comes to determining if cosmetic surgery is right for you, there are a number of important factors to consider. One of those factors is the cost. It is no secret that cosmetic surgery is expensive. The larger the area you need repaired, the more costly your surgery is likely to be. With that in mind, if cosmetic surgery is needed for medical purposes, like to repair skin damage, your health insurance may cover all or a portion of the costs. If you will be responsible for the costs of cosmetic surgery, all on your own, it is important to make sure that you can afford to do so, without putting yourself in debt.

Another factor that you will need to take into consideration is the time that you have to devote to cosmetic surgery. Unfortunately, this is a factor that many individuals do not take into consideration when first examining cosmetic surgery. Most cosmetic surgeries require a few days worth of rest and follow-up care. This may mean that you are unable to return to work right away. It is important that you are able to get the appropriate amount of time off from work, particularly without creating any issues that may cost you your job. Also, if you will miss a week or more worth of work, it is important to take your financial loss for that time period into consideration.

Another one of the many factors that should be examined, when examining cosmetic surgery, is that of the surgery type. Cosmetic surgery includes a number of different procedures. Popular cosmetic procedures include those that remove wrinkles, repair skin damage, such as burns, reduce or increase the size of breasts, as well as reshape or restructure the nose. As previously stated, the cost of your cosmetic surgery may all depend on the areas of your body which you would like improved. It may also have an impact on which cosmetic surgeons in your area can perform the work for yo

The decision as to which cosmetic surgeon you would like to use the services of is a decision that should not be made on a whim. When searching for a cosmetic surgeon, it is advised that you examine areas of expertise. While most cosmetic surgeons are able to perform a wide range of surgeries, there are some who have specialties, like breast enlargements or breast reductions or facelifts. Of course, there are no guarantees, but you are more likely to see success when using the services of a cosmetic surgeon that specializes in the procedure in which you would like to undergo.

As a reminder, cosmetic surgery can help to improve your appearance, which can have a whole set of other benefits all on its own, but it isn’t for everyone. With that in mind, if your physical appearance is an issue that you regularly have to deal with, it may be best to schedule a consultation appointment with a cosmetic surgeon in or around your area and make sure it is something that you can handle.

Eating Healthy Is The Only Choice

jude8753 | Weightloss / Diet | Tuesday, 25 September 2007

Eating healthy is important for maintaining bodily functions and living a disease-free life. If you struggle with healthy eating, than you know that breaking unhealthy habits can be the most difficult part of the process. A good beginning step when you want to start eating more healthy is to rid your home of all junk food and beverages so that you will not be tempted to snack during the day. Always keep healthy snacks like carrot sticks, yogurt, fresh fruit, or whole-wheat crackers on hand to ease those hunger pains. If you feel like you just have to have something sweet then have a couple chocolate chips, not cookies to get that little sugary fix you crave.

Another great step to healthy eating when you are first starting the process is to take a few moments to learn about what foods are the healthiest for you and how they work in your body. Most people understand that fruits, vegetables, and low-fat meats and dairy products are good for you, but few people understand why. The key is learning about nutrients. When you understand how specific nutrients work in the body, you will be more likely to make these healthy choices.

When cleansing yourself to prepare for a new healthy diet, you should also take into consideration your schedule for meals. If you often eat in a hurry at odd times of the day, you probably aren’t getting the best foods possible. Plan ahead! Instead of grabbing a fast food lunch on the go, take a bagged lunch to work, complete with a healthy wrap and some fresh vegetables. Plan ahead for healthy meals in the evening as well as cooking ahead if you are not currently getting healthy dinners and have little time to cook when you get home every night.

Even if you only replace one soda a day with a glass of water, you are really improving your calorie intake and helping to hydrate your body. If you eat fast food every day for lunch, just try replacing that half of the time. When you start by taking small steps, it does not seem like you are cutting out all of the foods you love and you can take your time to learn about healthy foods and appreciate them equally.

It’s also important to know what some of the labels mean that you see in the stores. I know when I go the the grocery store I’m never quite sure of what the labels actually mean. You see signs everywhere labeling products as natural and organic, but what exactly does that mean and what’s the difference? If we learn what these labels mean then we can better decide if we want to spend that extra money for a product that could possibly be just a marketing ploy.

Aren’t all fruits and vegetables natural? Unless it would be a new food source that had been processed and developed they would be natural. Now when we look at organic foods we will find they are more expensive because they are grown without chemical pesticides and fertilizers and the two main benefits to eatting organic foods are because you are helping the environment because those chemicals are not being introduced into nature and because you are avoiding ingesting chemicals they would be healthier foods. Of course if your on a budget you can skip those products that you peel because once you’ve discarded the peel, you’ve also discarded the chemicals. Instead, opt for organic items like apples, where you eat the peel. No matter what you buy make sure that you rinse off the food when you get home.

Learn To Eat Healthy

jude8753 | Weightloss / Diet | Sunday, 23 September 2007

Beautiful hair and skin starts with how we take care of the inside. If you eat unhealthy foods you are prone to be an unhealthy person. The foods we ingest are extremely important to our ability to grow, maintain function, and prevent illness. Therefore, if you value your health and beauty, you should learn as much about healthy eating as possible.

Healthy eating is important from the day we are born. As a child, we grow quite rapidly and this is due in part to the foods we eat. Foods all contain nutrients that provide us not only with fuel to live our daily lives, but also with the very substances that build our bones, muscles, and organ tissues. Not getting enough of one nutrient or another can cause a variety of problems, including stunting our growth.

For mothers who are nursing, nutrition is important because breast milk contains the nutrients a child needs to grow and develop properly. Upon growing older, these nutrients are then found in food, but don’t think that healthy eating isn’t important for growth after you’ve gone through puberty. Cells continuously break down and rebuild, so healthy eating for growth continues to be important until the day we die.

In our daily lives, we use energy to think, walk, talk, breathe, and perform all other actions. The energy it takes our body to do these things comes from two places: fat reserves in the body or our daily food intake. If you don’t eat healthy foods, you will find that you are storing more fat than necessary or that you aren’t getting enough and you feel sluggish or weak.

Along with energy-providing nutrients, like fats and carbohydrates, we also need the right nutrients to allow our organs to do their jobs. Hormones and other substances in the body make sure that everything is working properly. If you don’t eat the right nutrients, your body cannot produce these hormones and, as a result, cannot function properly.

Lastly, healthy eating is important in order to prevent illness. When we do not get the right nutrients, or body’s natural defense system against diseases weakens, allowing viruses and bacteria to attack the body.Without healthy foods and plenty of water, our bodies simply could not operate on a day-to-day basis. Learning how to eat healthy foods is therefore an important lesson, and one which we should begin learning as children. If you think your not getting the right nutrients then check with your health provider and see which supplements would be right for you.

Are We Eating Healthy And Getting All The Nutrients And Vitamins We Need?

jude8753 | Weightloss / Diet | Friday, 21 September 2007

Healthy eating requires you to eat a number of nutrients every day. In fact, there are 40 different nutrients you need to ingest in order to keep your body healthy. That’s a lot of nutrients you need to know about! Luckily, you can break down all of these nutrients into smaller categories in order to keep them organized in your mind and make sure you get all of the foods you need.

There are a number of essential vitamins that the body needs to function properly and it is possible to take these in the form of a vitamin supplement. The majority of people do not have a balanced diet and they may be lacking in certain vitamins which means that they require a vitamin supplement to ensure that they do not have a deficiency of an essential vitamin. A health professional or dietary technician is the best person to give advice on any vitamin supplement that a person should take. It is important to seek professional advice before taking any vitamin supplement. This is because there are some vitamins that can be toxic if too much is consumed and a vitamin supplement may not be appropriate if there is enough of the vitamin already in the food a person eats.

First and foremost, everyone needs water in order to live a healthy life. Without water, we become dehydrated, and eventually die. You lose water when you sweat and through daily bodily functions, so water must be replenished. Drinking about 8 glasses a day is recommended. Of course, water is found in food as well as in drinks, so you can get your 8 glasses by eating foods like watermelon.

Of course, we need much more than water every day to survive. Another group of nutrients we can’t do without is proteins. Proteins are found in foods such as meat, eggs, and soy products. They provide the amino acids needed to build muscle tissue as well as help make some of the hormones in our bodies. Red blood cells and hair is also made from protein.

Some categories of people may require more types of vitamin supplement than others. Vegetarians are often deficient in certain vitamins that are only found in animal products, for example, and a vitamin supplement is the ideal solution to this problem. Vegetarians do need to be aware that some vitamin supplement manufacturing processes involve animal products and it is important for them to read the labels. A large number of synthetic vitamin supplement products are available which will enable a vegetarian to take them without contravening their dietary beliefs or needs.

Along with proteins, a body also needs adequate amounts of fats and carbohydrates in order for us to have enough energy during the day. Fats are primarily used for energy during intense activity, like exercising, while carbohydrates are primarily used for energy during less intense activities, like standing, sitting, and other movements. Both the fats and the carbohydrates that we eat in a day can be stored for later use as fat, so it is important to eat enough for energy, but also important to regulate intake in order to stay slim and healthy. In the event that you are not eating enough fats and carbohydrates, your body can also provide itself with fuel from proteins.

Try A Few Yoga Asanas For The Stomach

jude8753 | Weightloss / Diet | Thursday, 20 September 2007

Yoga is a great part of any wellness routine, it has the ability to both reduce stress and exercise the body. If you are trying to use yoga to target your midsection, well, that can be done. There are a number of yoga positions (called asanas) which exercise the stomach muscles. Bear in mind that some of these are more advanced than other. Assess your own skill and comfort level before trying certain asanas. If you are not sure you are able to do one asana, start with one that seems easier and work your way up once you have belt some strength and flexibility. As with any workout routine, be sure to consult a professional before beginning and always warm up properly to avoid injury.

Pavan-Muktasan
To perform this stomach-exercising asana, first lie flat on your back. Use a yoga mat or towel to cushion the spine. Bend both knees up to your chest so that your thigh touches the stomach. Hug your knees in place and lock your fingers. Now lift your head up so your nose meets your knees. Take a deep breath and hold it for thirty seconds before releasing and slowly lowering back to start. This exercise can also be done one leg at a time.

Bhujangasan
For this stomach exercise, remain on the floor, but roll over on to your stomach. Position your hand under your shoulders. Now, using your back muscles, raise your upper torso off the ground to that your head is upright. Be careful not to push with your hands. You want the muscles in your back to be doing the work. Hold this posture for thirty seconds, then lower yourself back to start. Even though you are using your back muscles to lift your upper body, performing the asana will assist in reducing belly fat and flattening your tummy.

The Bow
This stomach exercise is pretty similar to the previous asana, but more involved. It starts from the same position lying on your stomach, but in this exercise you curl your legs upward in addition to lifting your upper torso. Bend your knees so that the soles of your feet come up toward your head. Grab your ankles and pull with your hands and push with your legs until only your stomach is on the floor. Your body should feel sort of like it is making a circle. Your knees should remain together throughout the exercise. Hold this position for thirty seconds before releasing and returning to starting position.

Paad-Pashchimottanasan
Now that you have read the name of this asana, try not to be intimidated– it is less complicated in practice than in pronunciation. It does, however, require a fair amount of flexibility, so you may want to start with something easier and build up to this one. Start by lying on your back with your legs straight and arms overhead. Your body should be straight from head to toe with all limbs extended. Point your palms up to the ceiling and put your hands together. Contract your stomach muscles to sit up, keeping your back straight and hands overhead. Bend forward and grab your toes with your hands, putting your head between your arms so it touches your knees. Hold the position for two minutes before releasing.

A Few Options For Hair Removal

jude8753 | Hair Removal | Thursday, 20 September 2007

The growing trend in the past years has been hair removal. Everyone wants a smooth, hairless body. The human body is almost completely covered with fine hair though called lanugo and it helps with the evaporation of perspiration. The palms of the hands and soles of the feet have none though and this has turned into a very lucrative business for anyone licensed to do hair removal. Although there’s many options for hair removal, waxing has been one of the most popular and preferred methods of removing hair. Women aren’t the only ones though lots of men are also among frequent customers getting their backs, chests and other areas waxed smooth.

Waxing can either be done by professionals in a salon or you can do it yourself in your own home using one of the many kinds of self-waxing kits that are sold in stores. Waxing requires hot wax to be poured on the area and then removed by having strips stuck on and pulled off along with unwanted hair. Although this method is often painful, it is cost effective and can last a while, which keeps many customers going back for more.

Since hair removal has become so popular with each passing year there has been more and more advancements and new products being created that are giving hair removal customers more options. Since there are now so many different types of hair removal methods available, it can sometimes be difficult for people to determine which method is best for them.

A method similar to laser hair removal but that has been around much longer is that of electrolysis. When removing hair by electrolysis, the technician uses a needle that projects an electric current into the hair follicle, killing it at the root. By sending the current directly to the root of the hair follicle it prevents hair from growing back in the same spot. Although it may take longer than laser hair removal, electrolysis is another way to permanently remove hair in a certain area. Like laser hair removal, this takes a number of repeat appointments for treatment. Electrolysis often requires treatment for anywhere up to a year to a year and a half for the hair to be completely removed. Like laser hair treatment, electrolysis can cause some discomfort and pain during treatment when the electric current is killing the hair follicle but it should not last longer than a few minutes after the treatment has ended.

A long used method of hair removal is the process of removing hair using depilatories. Depilatories are made up of a chemical mixture that is applied to a region of unwanted hair. Once applied, the depilatory is left on the hair from anywhere from three to fifteen minutes depending on the size of the area and the amount of hair being removed. Once the chemicals have had time to kill the hair, the depilatory is removed and the area of skin is smooth and free from hair. Unlike laser hair removal and electrolysis, using a depilatory is completely pain free and can be done in the privacy of your own home. A number of depilatories are sold at local supermarkets. However, for people with sensitive skin depilatories may not be the right way to go about removing unwanted hair. Since depilatories contain such strong chemicals in order to kill the hair, they often cause skin irritation for people who are prone to having sensitive skin. Depilatories also typically require repeat treatments considerably sooner than both electrolysis and laser hair removal.
