Your Professional Image
I enjoyed all of the courses that were taught and one of the first was people skills and learning how to project a professional image. You learn the guidelines on how to maintain a healthy body and mind. You will learn about professional ethics and attitude and how to show effective communication. You will be able to define personality and be able to list the qualities of effective physical presentation.
In other words it meant I had to dress for success and know how to treat clients and fellow workers and myself with respect. Since I had already learned people skills from being a waitress it was very easy and fun. We always did role playing to learn about different situations that might arise and how to react professionally. You definitely need good manners and will need to learn how to control your feelings and never gossip.
If you enjoy people then it is fun. I think one of the hardest things I had to get use to was touching people. Believe me not everyone has good hygiene and it can get pretty rough at times. You had to have so many hours in before you were allowed to go on the floor and actually work on someone so that was months down the road.
However we still had to partner up and work on each other. Using all the different techniques we were learning and believe me there is a lot to learn. You really learn what professional is all about.
