Is Beauty School Right For You?
If you are considering a career in the beauty field you may want to specialize. There are many different fields you can consider and you will be able to see what best suits you and your personality. Believe me you will learn many things in beauty school, perhaps more than you expect.
I know I had no clue about the education I was in for. I studied the Pivot Point method and it is very thorough system of learning. I was 45 when I decided on this course of career change and the decision to go back to school was exciting until I enrolled and went to orientation. I realized I was the oldest person there. I felt out of place and wondered how in the world I was going to adapt to all these babies.
Well my first thought was to change my mind and then I buckled up and decided this was something I had always dreamed about so I stuck in there. My Instructors were also young women and it was funny to call them Miss so and so. We had to sit at our little desks and just like in grade school raise our hand to be excused. Now I’m a grown woman and I did not feel like I needed permission to go the bathroom.
After awhile I got use to the routine and adjusted, but it was not going to be as easy as I had initially thought. I signed up for part time, but soon changed to full time because I wanted to learn this course as fast as I could. I loved learning all this cool stuff. I took it very seriously.
Some of the young girls cheated on some of the test and other activities and I couldn’t understand why they even bothered to be there if they didn’t want to learn. You can not cheat when you go to boards so why bother cheating in the first place. You either want that license and are willing to learn or you go find something else you like better. Don’t waste your time and everyone else’s.
In this section I will be sharing some insights and knowledge about some of the things I learned while in school. I hope you will come back regularly and add some input if something interest you or ask questions and I will do my best to answer so you will understand without technical jargon.
